Facebook ads

Don't waste your fucking time. Period. Forget that shit unless you know what is a huge trend. Even then, it'll cost you $9999999999999999

Forget facebook ads unless you have thousands to burn through for kicks.

Are you saying you're better of spending your money on weed...?

A client said the exact same thing not so long ago - they did a side by side test of fb ads and google ads - google made them a profit, facebook did not make a single cent and sent almost no traffic.

I made a personal ad (of myself looking for girls) it got some hits but no responses. It was simply a URL redirect to an HTML page of me with my contact info.

It might work for apps but after trying it with one of ours it was a huge waste.

MrMaxwell 12-12-2011 05:17 PM

I just got the idea that something is not right. It doesn't feel like real traffic, and it's just .. I don't know .. something is not right

I got the same e-mail.

Hi,

Facebook will not tolerate behavior that users may find annoying or abusive, or that violates our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines. You have used the account associated with XXXX @ XXXXX.com to submit ads that are explicitly prohibited by our ad policies. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled.

We will not be able to reactivate your account, nor will you be able to recover any content within the account. You will also not be permitted to create a new account to restart your Facebook advertising. This decision is final.

Thank you for your understanding,

The Facebook Ads Team

I'm sure it does and if I had thousands of dollars to burn through finding the things it works for I could probably create some new streams of income ... It still doesn't "feel" right to me, facebook ads.

what do u mean you by "Forget facebook ads unless you have thousands to burn through for kicks."

Facebook ads are pay per click and you can set your daily spending limit so why would i need to burn through thousands of dollars to test an ad?

let's say i have a restaurant in Chicago - how much would I pay per click if i bought ads on Facebook?

I agree. You just have to know what you're doing instead of just throwing a nice banner and selling text out there and hope it goes well. I pay $4.00 or less per day for candy to people ages 25-40 in the USA and Canada along with a ton of other successful tests (People in the Isle of Mann seem to love my Marley products..)

I'd say you'd pay between $1.20-4.00 range per click for a Chicago based ad depending on the other options that you choose.

Like all ad brokers, it's hit and miss for everyone.

the difference between facebook ads and google is that googfle people are looking for your product/servise.

facebook is more like tageted adverts. not based on what the person wants but there profile.

thus with facebook you are having to presume a lot about a person.

to make facebook work, you realy need to have a lot of data on who may buy your product/service. by this if your a big firm you will have market reaserch and can tell who may be the type to opt for that product or service. a small firm can only guess.

facebook is then ideal for big firms or firms who employ a marketing firm to do the work.

in the uk they say at least 4 marketing firms do facebook ads for other firms. they have some facy softwear that can test results and can see what works.

its why in long turms i see google winning at ads as fdr a lot of firms, they can make google work, and so will see that as a place to advertise.

I don't give a fuck about facebook & their ads :pimp

seeandsee 12-13-2011 10:44 AM

you came to G, type "used cars", then G show you "used cars" ads. You click ad, you check site, probably use it.

you came to site with Adsense, its about "used cars", you get "used cars" ads. Same here, maybe less% to use it then via G site...

you came to FB, you play poker and farmwille, you see "used cars" ad, you click on it because you see hot car pic, you close tab...

what is facebook?

halfpint 12-13-2011 10:49 AM

You are better off sending Facebook users to a fan page then have links on that page to your site.
