CC chargebacks in the usa
But is true a person in the usa can request a chargeback without any reason ? Someone could spend money on a site, and then request a chargeback without explain any reason ?
|
No, they need a reason. I can't just call my bank and say give me my money back I have buyers remorse. That's the banks. The sites are another story. Some sites will give you your money back by just mentioning doing a chargeback.

He won't request for a chargeback, but will claim he doesn't recognize the charge or claims he didn't do the purchase. The bank will do a chargeback then. If it was a Verified by Visa / MasterCard secure code purchase and customer claims he didn't receive the purchased items or service, the bank will do a chargeback as well.
I'm afraid that at some banks, initiating a chargeback is only a matter of clicking on a button in the online banking software. Most of my chargebacks come from the US, and never ever from Europe, except the UK. |
I wish it were that easy. Had someone steal my account on Xbox and bought a game and $75 worth of points. I got the $75 back but not the $20 back for the game which they (microsoft) and my bank refused to do.

And how is possible some adult affiliates do a chargeback in the same day the person spend the money ?
|
Most (all?) of our chargebacks have listed "don't recognize the charge" as the reason. Soin other words the customer says that they don't think they authorized the charge. That's a reason, but they don't have to prove that they didn't make the purchase - just say they don't remember making the purchase.
For us, in most cases the customer didn't recognize the name RMEE Inc on their CC statement. We call them, they apologize and make it right. |

So a person with a legal cc can buy a monthly subcription, and then after 1 month he spent on the paysite, request the chargeback to the bank without explain any reason ?

Mainly that the card is not present . The card holder is the client of the bank , and they will keep them happy , mainly that they know that it is the merchant that will get nailed for it, plus fees . A few years ago, I suscribed to a one month T-Mobile plan ( I was in Florida for 3 weeks only ). I paid with my cc. Back home, I saw that they had charged a renewal. I called them , faxed them my airplane ticket : they would not budge and in fact added a third month. I called my CC bank, explained that I wanted the 2 past month reversed. Right away , the clerk said it would be better to charge back the whole thing ( 3 months.. ) . That is what was done : T-Mobile ate it , plus fees . |
Of course you can chargeback. You call your bank or CC issuer, and say "I didn't buy porn! I'm a Christian!" and they'll give you an instant refund. No company is going to risk breaking up a good Christian marriage over pornography.
Same goes for cable companies. Buy a PPV porn movie, get billed for it, and call them up screaming "WTF is this shit?" Blame your kids or someone else in the house and get a refund. Works everytime. |
