Fuck Me For Buying .xxx
The "told you so" and "you get what you deserve" are incoming, I know :1orglaugh
So I order 4 .xxx domains, and after a week of contacting prbot, icm form support, and godaddy support, I finally receive my application for membership into the sponsored community. In the email, support says: Quote:
Quote:
It's also kind of strange that support doesn't use their names. It's only from "support." It appears even ICM employees don't have the courage to admit they are apart of ICM. Anyway, bring on the hate :) |
tldr; No-one cares.

Did you post on reddit?

I'm a gambling man, and have bet more than $400 on riskier wagers than this. Although, I at least got to see some action out of those bets. This one is just sitting stagnated, and quite boring. |

Another .xxx success story.
It seems the general consensus by those who have actually bought one is, buy a .xxx = wait for disappointment, resentment, and regret. |
use the forgot password feature??

But, spending a few hundred bucks on something that may take off seemed to be worth it. If not, oh well, some money lost. I also like a lot of how they plan to operate the extension, their marketing of the extension, and the opportunity to buy domains that were being squatted on in the .com extension. But currently, yes, disappointment, resentment, and regret. I also believe they should have some balls and start attaching names to support emails. It makes ICM and their employees seem as though they are afraid or embarrassed to reveal who they really are and doesn't provide for a good customer support experience. |

Most of the 'investors' running around buying .xxx's I know of are actually not in the adult industry whatsoever.
I definitely know of private equity firms that will end up snagging a portfolio or two of .xxx's but ultimately, this looks like a not so great deal. The "getting in quick" part is nonexistent, and when you have your own industry saying "ehhh its not a good idea guys.." that's when you really should consider listening. Reminds me of the .mobi's and that oh so amazing idea.. those were way more appealing even when everyone knew they were destined for major fails. |

Finally! So, after a long wait I finally received my token and my domains now resolve. Thank you prbot for forwarding my issue to the right people in order to get this taken care of.
(waits for incoming hate for owning resolving .xxx domains :1orglaugh) |
good luck
