Is cable thefts a problem in the usa?

In the UK any bit of metel is being stolen.

Copper theft is huge right now.

and after hurricane katrina here in nola was bad with metal thieves

In my country cables are cut for copper every day almost... fucking thefts then fuck people for land lines, internet, even electricity...

heh, i was going to say post Katrina thousands of abandoned houses were completely stripped in a matter of months, all across southern Lousiana and Mississippi.

there's a shop on Chef Menteur Hwy that I am sure got alot of that metal...

besides that it's common all over the U.S. with abandoned or "vacant" structures.
