GFY Mods: "program announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed." explain please.

I consider myself an "established" webmaster been here since the infancy of this board. I don't spam here daily like many others, yet you moved my $200PPS xmas bonus thread announcement yesterday to the announcement board.

What does "One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed." which is on the description of the forum, exactly mean then? Mods?

From an ICQ conversation:

"please keep to threads to topics such as: dogs pooping in your yard, what you ate for dinner, scratching your nuts or they will be moved...lol"

guess relevant news to making money isn't worthy of GFY :1orglaugh

Where's the "dogs pooping in your yard" thread? Sounds like a good read.

You know the drill, pay to play. :2 cents:

Ok here is my free consulting since you do seem to get it. lol

Make a thread about something like that. Dogs, cats, pet drama is always good.... cop drama, celebrity nipple slip, dead celeb, etc....

THEN, at the end of your post mention your offer. That's how you do it.

You're welcome. :1orglaugh

I think they interpret it as you can announce a new program once, as in when you open the doors. Any other promo for that program goes in the other section unless you pay.

That seems to be the new interpretation but originally it wasn't meant that way. It was that established members of the board could make business related announcements in the main forum but only once per announcement.

Just pay them and everyone is happy! :pimp

fris 12-21-2011 10:27 AM

maybe a top advertiser type thing?

top advertisers are allowed to make announcements on the main forum

gleem 12-21-2011 11:32 AM

Total crap.. I'm not only a program owner but an affiliate, and I count on reading about latest site launches, bonus weekends and the likes here in this forum without needing to switch to another section which neither or nor 90% of other do.

"established"

(of a person) Recognized and accepted in a particular capacity.

Nah thats not it, to be established here, you have to be an advertiser. I know, I get in trouble from time to time

alias 12-21-2011 11:59 AM

Nobody looks at the other sections, need to make it more streamlined as mentioned above.

One Time Program announcement in the main forum. That means, as a non-advertiser, you are allotted ONE, count them, ONE program announcement in the main forum. All further program announcements go in the program announcement forum.

I did a quick count and you have had several program announcements in the main forum. So consider yourself lucky, as you have gotten far more than the ONE you are allotted.

We have many advertising packages that will allow you to post threads in the main forum on and ongoing basis, some packages that allow for these threads to be pinned.

This forum doesn't run on gumdrops and rainbows, you support us, we support you.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I always thought and several others I spoke to also thought the rule was as long as you weren't in here daily or even weekly making announcements, and it wasn't just bullshit threads and it was actual news that it was ok to post since it is relevant to the biz and as an affiliate myself I look here for bonus announcements and what not.

You are perfectly welcome to post business relevant threads and posts in the main forum. The moment you start promoting or making announcements, those go in the announcement section. That is the purpose behind the ONE time program announcement rule.

It seems you were able to get quite a bit of attention for your promo just by asking about the policy.

I've done more then "one" but I've ALWAYS prefaced each thread title with

(OTA) Thread Title Here

And I've never had any probs doing it that way, however after the new year I SHOULD have a nice banner running somewhere around here so I'll be able to have some NON (OTA) threads lol
