You NYC people go to Please Don't Tell? Just heard about it on diggnation and fuck, it sounds awesome.

A cheesy looking hot dog place, with plastic hot dog outside, the words. Phone booth inside. You pick up phone, dial, they pick up, you say table for two please and the door slides open and you go into a really cool looking bar.

I want to go to NYC JUST to go there. (And the ninja restaurant)

It's a cool place to go during the week but draws in a bit too much of the bridge and tunnel crowd on the weekends. Here's another speakeasy style place that was cool back in the day.

St Marks place is a special place in NYC, you can buy a bong in about 60% of the stores there.
