cool but not needed. he could have just nose dived and gotten the ball over the line and kept the ball safe, that move could have backfired had the ball popped off.

if the defender had held his hand out he would have smacked that ball out and it could have been an interception. The smart move would have been to guarantee a 1st down on the 1 yard line or get a td with the nosedive protecting the ball at all costs. You would have a virtually guaranteed touch down , compared to a showy td that could have gone very wrong. Makes good tv though
