Gayish...

The first time I heard that stuff I thought it was the coolest thing ever, then it got old in about two weeks.

The problem with Skrillex is that his stuff is all the same, not just the overall sound, but even the cadence of the wobbles is exactly the same in every song. It just gets old super fast and there are better artists out there doing more progressive things with dubstep, although Skrillex did make it popular so you have to give him credit for that.

You will love my kids stuff then... check it out:

I can respect the work ppl put into dubstep as I do any other form of music. I love cg and sfx and you can find some cool dubstep videos (like the skrillex ones).

arock10 12-28-2011 03:28 PM

I like dubstep but at the same time acknowledge its gay and for kids

His Concert in Tampa was sold out for months and amazing.
Had three other DJ's perform before Skrillex came out.

So what kind of drugs do I need to do to "get" this barrage of random noises? I love electronic music but this gives me a headache.

That is pretty much how I feel about dubstep.

PiracyPitbull 12-28-2011 07:37 PM

I tried to like it - its just too dis-jointed.

candyflip 12-28-2011 07:42 PM

The first time I heard dubstep, it made me physically sick.

Pretty much how I feel about it. It's being used for background music on every video lately so I just take those small doses and enjoy it. Can't be bothered to have that repetitive shit banging in my head all day.

Babaganoosh 12-28-2011 09:11 PM

That shit is not music.

I think it's a pill (mostly prescription, and maybe ecstasy) thing. People just want something bumping hard all night and could care less about particular songs..

TidalWave 12-28-2011 10:23 PM

I combined 2010 and 2011 Skrillex CD's into 1 single CD, and it sounds like the same fucking song track after track, and a lot of them just plain suck.

mynameisjim 12-28-2011 10:24 PM

I will say this though, the few dubstep clubs I've been to have had the most "willing" girls of any club. Women who go to those club are looking to be wild, at least for the night.

At least that's been my experience. So even if you don't like the music, check out a club when they have dubstep night or a DJ that plays it, you'll be surprised how many girls hit on you.

It's funny watching mainstream people who would never listen to a sub genre of dub all of the sudden become big fans. The problem is that Dub is really starting to sound all alike.

What Dubstep was three years ago and back in the day, we'd call this "fucking filthy".

And what it's become now, a joke.

When a Britney song has dubstep, you know the shit is all over.

Anthony 12-28-2011 11:14 PM

For those who care, trance step is the new "it" dub sub genre to listen too.

trends are funny. First heard dubstep years ago, i thought it was pretty cool but not really something I would listen to. Now dubstep is all of a sudden for the masses, and everybody likes it until the next fad, then dubstep is 'out'. Growing number of people don't listen to music that they genuinely enjoy, it almost looks like alot of people dont even know how to do that... they just listen to shit that's 'in' right now, and when it's not anymore, they dont listen to it and think it sucks and it's 'old'.
How can you like a complete music style when the media feeds it to you, and dislike it when it's out of fashion? Music is timeless you fucking retards. My taste for music stays the same, because you cannot change taste. These people don't have and never had a music taste to begin with, if you listen to crap just because you want to be fashionable.

on the other hand if a kind of music becomes popular there is more artists who make this music and quality is getting better too.

I saw this guy earlier this year and it was awesome. Just a bunch of noise, none of the extra bullshit

I like watching ppl dance to it. Robot for life.

Choopa Phil 12-29-2011 11:23 AM

Skrillex is pop step not dub step. Dub step needs to stick with its original roots in Jamaica and be exclusive to the UK, thats when it was good. Skrillex was OKAY at first, his new album is absolutely horrendous.

So is this what real dubstep is supposed to sound like?
I dont listen to it enough to know and doesn't sound like what you usually hear.

The director said on vimeo:
"Ive always been a big fan of dub music, so i put alot into this one. Plus i think i just saw Avatar."
