WHat movies are you looking forward to?

I loved the stuff from mad magazine as a kid, this is a great idea for a movie

Love movies with Bad Asses in it

anexsia 01-03-2012 02:51 PM

I'm looking forward to Prometheus

CDSmith 01-03-2012 03:02 PM

Baja Dunes looks interesting, if only judging by it's cast.

A few look like they might be worth watching among those lists. Avengers w/ Scarlett Johansen, tasty. :D

HDADULT 01-03-2012 03:05 PM

Anyone that I can stay awake in. Battlefield Los Angeles kept me up but War Horse zzzzzzz until the end.
Have you been to an Arclight Theater yet? Pretty bad ass.

it's ok neither did the rest of the planet ;)

Looks like there will be 20 less comic book movies this year, which is definitely a good thing, despite me liking some of them they were starting to take over ALL movies for far too long there... Last year as a whole was pretty empty, didn't even make a strong finish at the end... War Horse was ok i guess.. but nothing that will blow you away like spielberg has been known for in the past. Hugo i haven't seen yet but looks good.

the hobbit sounds like it will be good, its both good and lame that they are breaking it into 2 parts separated by a year though...

better than the original eh? will have to see it then because i loved the Swedish adaptation. I can't see how they have condensed three books into 2 hours for this new one.

the only other one i can think of is Prometheus, which considering Ridley Scott is at the helm I have high hopes for this. Trailer looks very good.

Is Prometheus an Alien prequel or is it another story altogether? I heard it started out as one but then might have got changed. It sure looks like Alien from some of the previews.

It's a prequel which apparently takes place 30-50 years before Ripley's time.

I believe it originally started out as a prequel to Aliens but that was later changed.

Used to love Spy vs Spy.

And did they really make an entire movie based on the guy that kicked someones ass on a bus?

candyflip 01-03-2012 07:21 PM

Any of the ones I've worked on in the past year. This one came out great.

Marty, it looks like The Avenue is on its last legs. We should pool together and buy it and use Major for our own private screenings. :)

calvinawe 01-04-2012 07:31 AM

nothing mainstream probably :)

Evil Chris 01-04-2012 07:41 AM

I won't have to go see Spy vs Spy. The trailer pretty much summed up the whole film.

I'm looking ahead to The Hobbit. I see, however, they will milk it with parts 1 and 2.

newB 01-04-2012 07:44 AM

The kid from Hugo was recently cast as Ender, so it looks like Ender's Game may actually make it to the screen.

Ridley Scott is one of my favorite producers/directors of all time after Gladiator. Although he took a beating with Robin hood that I actually enjoyed. Mark Strong is one of my favorite new actors. Anyway thanks for the tip and the trailer looks awesome.

Sounds good, I am going to try and catch it this weekend. The trailers have looked very good.

As far as Ridley Scott goes, Blade Runner and Alien pretty much did it for me. IMO neither have been bettered in the genre.

After further investigation, apparently it is and it isn't;)

Quote:

Yes, in that Scott has stated it will address the question of where the derelict alien space craft in that movie came from, and that astute observers will be able to recognize the "DNA" of that movie in this one. The movie was originally announced as a prequel, before Scott became director.

No, in that Ridley Scott has disavowed any direct link to the Alien movies. He stated that it is an original, distinct science fiction project when he first became the director, and even now insists that its role in setting up the first Alien movie is an organic result of the ending they have constructed.

Will have to check it out, I already thought the Swedish version was good so this one will probably blow my mind.
