Getting Kodachrome processed in the UK, for what we did, was a nightmare. They had their own rules. :( |
canon is my choice too, kodak is of game
|
I don't feel to comment now, I will wait and see what develops....
|
The majority of photo print shops are Kodak in the UK also :2 cents:
|
Nikon is my choice but I love those little HD Kodak video cameras.

Kodak lost the plot years ago, I didn't really shoot Kodachrome but did use Ektachrome until Fuji came along with a product that had the same batch code for the first 4 years. Which meant zero colour shift from roll to roll. Which saved me a fortune in film. With Kodak you might have 40 rolls in a fridge and have a job requiring 40 rolls but that didn't mean you could use that film. In reality you had to buy a fresh bunch of 40 all with the same batch code, because no way could you risk mixing batches with Kodak. I also used to use a Kodak lith film for making photographic prints, which in effect was a cross processing - loads of people did it - and Kodak finally caught on that it was getting used lots but didn't bother to find out by who, so when they "improved" this now popular paper, they broke it because it stopped doing the trick we actually liked it for. |
Sad story but shit happens. Facebook, ipod, will get into this scene too. Maybe in 100 more years though.

Shares
I have 18,000 shares of Enron I'd gladly sell.
One of my 'smarter' investments. |
Solid name known around the world for quality.

First thing they should have done is restructure the outgoing money for them company before filing Chapter 11 or what ever.
I bet not the CEO COO or anyone in the company with initials took a paycut to stop this from happening. They just sat back got paid and now will have to lay off a couple K low lever employees. Unless they fold entirely. |
If there's one certain thing in life, it's change.
|
Sad day for the Kod'.
|
Kodak and AGFA both missed the train to digital age, for Kodak it just took a little longer

I still have family and friends who work at Kodak. We've seen this coming for a long time, but it's still going to hurt us locally. |
they didnt keep up with change R.I.P.
|
this is bad for a historic company...
|
It sucks I guess...
|
Don't worry Chinese or Japanese investors will buy it out and continue to run it, probably making a profit.
|

I'd be really surprised if they actually shut their doors. |

Once we moved here we dealt with Switzerland. They would clip a few rolls of every set, make an adjustment if needed and send the parcel back by courier. Never any questions asked about the content, we only went to BG. Fuck the guys at Wimbledon. They were a pain in the ass, they never separated our work so if some Muslim or Indian women didn't like it, they held it back. Sometimes confiscating pictures. Dealing with head office in Hemel Hempstead was like talking to the wall. |
