Need someone to update my version, setup the right settings, and test it thoroughly.

I could, but most probably would not.
This software is fantastic, but at the same time is very 'buggy' and 'iffy' all around in my experience. If you do an update, I would highly recommend that you install it first on a separate test site. There are a lot of settings in this software that need to be set to match what it is you are trying to do. It would be best done by the person(s) who developed the business plan model behind it as opposed to trying to explain the model to a third party to setup and test for you. The testing it thoroughly part is where you will spend the majority of your time with this software as with all the variables created by the various settings make this part of developing with this product very time consuming and intensive.

The forums for this software are pretty lame at best, support for them is best dealt with directly. The management and long term use of this software in my view really demands that you have a person or persons really well versed with all its functions that also knows the business model it is trying to create for the customers.

If I remember correctly you were asking about this software some months ago, are you just getting it going now or is it a up and running active site that you are trying to upgrade?

I bought the script i think 1.5 years ago but havent gotten around to setting it up like i want it, testing it, and launching.

Since more and more people are asking for an adult "flippa" i thought now would be a good time.

All i want basically is that everything works, that i can verify the people who sign up so theres not a ton of funny bogus bidders, and that its totally free for both the sellers and the buyers.

The big problem with upgrading this script is that moving between versions without testing on a separate sandbox site is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets. Moving between versions can be tricky as noted by Max Potential.

There are lots of settings and if all those settings aren't reflected in the upgraded site then all sorts of things can go astray, the db scheme is far from consistent between some iterations of the software, new settings may not be replicated properly on upgrade from old database versions - you need to thoroughly test everything with a copy of your site elsewhere before applying those steps to a live site.

Phpprobid isn't really the software for an adult flippa if that's what you're trying to create. You'd be better off starting with a stable, custom solution. If you're serious about the project then a custom solution makes far more sense than a third party script with known problems.
