Cops: Navy SEAL accidentally shoots self in head

SAN DIEGO -- A 22-year-old Navy SEAL was on life support Friday after he accidentally shot himself in the head while showing off a pistol to a woman he met at a bar, police said.

San Diego Police Officer Frank Cali told U-T San Diego officers were called to a home in Pacific Beach about 2 a.m. Thursday on a report that a man had shot himself in the head while playing with a gun.

Cali says the man was showing guns to a woman he'd met earlier at a bar and put a pistol he believed was unloaded to his head. Cali says he then pulled the trigger.

A Navy spokesman confirmed to U-T San Diego that the sailor had completed SEAL training last week and was assigned to a West Coast-based team.

I'm also in the "no excuses, he knew better, or should have" camp. Thankfully he shot himself and not a bystander. The guilt of another's bad gun handling injury or death is not something I would want to have to live with.

I figure the woman part of the story is mostly media sensationalism, tho no doubt sex hormones were making him more of an idiot than usual.

His team and trainers must feel like crap.

Lots of the guys at the top in the military are notoriously gay. I don't know about navy seals though. I am talking about top (no pun intended) officers. Gay guys get fast tracked to the top because they are more easily controlled by the puppet masters.

Exactly. I've played with a bunch of air guns in my life and even though I KNEW(checked) they were empty, I still wouldn't aim it at anyone, especially not my own head.

It is understandable that vets do not want to consider that many of their commanding officers smoke cock. There are many ways the criminal syndicate maintains their power/control over influential people and one of the best ways is sexual blackmail regardless if it is cheating on their wives, gay sex, or pedophilia.

Seal training most likely meant BUDS, Basic Underwater Demolition Screening. It has a 70 percent wash out attrition rate. He was part of a cadre of men that don't know the meaning of quit. Wasted life, wasted chance. I would have killed to be in his shoes passing BUDs when I was 22. RIP Sailor.

On a submarine, the crew is too tight, we all partied together, even the officers at times. Something like being gay would have come out when we all went to the whore houses in the philipines.
