Lottery officials are working to make good on the checks and offered to cover any bank fees incurred from the incident. The lottery is sending the affected customers a free scratch off ticket as part of the apology, according to the Tribune.

Illinois is quite possibly the worst run state in the US.

Our last 2 governors are in prison. Our whole mayoral process in chicago is a joke...and all you hear about on the streets is how everyone hates our state and local governments...yet they all keep voting for them

Sad that while everyone on Illinois knows what "Chicago politics" means, the rest of the country had to wait for Obama's senate seat to be sold before we found out.
