How Google+ Uses SEO to steal Search traffic from FB and Twitter
Read: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-plus-seo
End result = FB and Twitter poaching? My comment: Google's latest attempt at grabbing FB's crown seems to be working better than its previous two tries (remember Orkut and Buzz?). It isn't obviously stacking the deck since it follows its own 'best practices' for search placement. A little consistency is a good thing considering the recent fiasco about google and chrome promoters... |
Google has alot of tools such as its search engine. Facebook doesn't.
For me, Google useful, and Facebook is a waste of time. Facebook is a social network and a place to hang out, so they have more eyeballs on their pages for more hours a day than Google might, but when I want anything, Google is where I go. How do you compare the 2 when they are both so dissimilar ? |
not poaching, google has always gave their own properties better serps (although they denied it to congress).
i've noticed some serps littered with google + posts. |

Yeah, but since the profile is registered at google and google knows who they are then the google profile is actually more relevant with more details about the persons search habits etc... Google doesn't have access to Facebook and Twitter logs so google can't compile as much data about the profile from FB and T. :1orglaugh |
Well I guess google can do with their sites ranking whatever their want, since it's theirs.

stealing? in what bizzaro world can you be accused of stealing something you own?
|
I think the writer of the article was signed into his google account. Signout and redo the search. Google plus then comes in much lower.
|
Good for them..move on..
|
Google + will never take off how they want. So yeah we will see lots of questionable tactics to try.
The next big social network as yet to happen. |
interesting
|
Google is very smart, there is always a reason for all their tools out there.
