How do you keep in shape?

Having my moped will make it much easier to make a quick trip to the gym but I tend to do my fitness in intense bursts, usually 4 times a week. 60-90 minutes on the elliptical will usually do it and I watch netflx and the time just flys right by. Problem is is that I eat a ton of food and can't help myself time from time. We're talking an entire large pizza, and I ain't growing vertically anymore!:upsidedow
Maybe I'll start taking stimulates that help reduce my food cravings. Give me some advice.

What do you do?

Hi. I've stimulated myself since I was 12/13 and now i'm almost 20. I havent had a specific patter though it was many times a day in the earlier years. Then I would stop for awhile and go back to it. As of a year or so now i've been trying to quit but have had little success. It's affecting my life and with the college work i'm finding this extremely difficult. I can't focus on my work, I cant remember things, and the easiest of tasks have become extremely hard. I exercise regularly and it doesnt help. Infact I head that its bad to masturbate and exrcise.

I really need to stop damaging my body and find a way to fix what i've done. How bad is the damage from what i've explained? What should my diet be? What can I do? I hate this addiction and want it to go away! My life is in ruins and falling apart more and more each day b/c of it. :(

MMA, competition 4 times per year, training 5 days per week. Weights 3 times per week. An eating regimen that incorporates protein pulsing and insulin management.

VenzuelanChick 01-10-2012 01:36 AM

*Keep a healthy snack in the fridge (baby carrots or alike), well at this point for you, even snacking on sandwiches might be better.
*try to have 5 small meals instead of having 3 massive ones.
*Eat everything with Chopsticks (it will slow you down a bit and after a while youŽll get bored of eating so your portions will be smaller)
*If your BMI is over 28 you can get your doctor to prescribe Alli that you keep you away from Pizzas and all things unhealthy plus cut some of your fat intake to help you lose weight.
*Keep up your gym routine.

Those are things that might work as little tricks to keep you away from eating a whole Pizza... For me what works is going cold turkey (no fat, no sugars, small portions, low calories and I prepare all my meals) but I understand it could be a too much if you already a lot.

Best of luck to you:thumbsup

If you like cooking, feel free to hit me up for some healthy but tasty recipes.

Start lifting heavy 3x a week. You can lose weight with cardio only but then you'll have the skinny fat thing going on.

Other than that, eat below maintaince level and get your fat, carb and protein requirements in.

Fabien 01-10-2012 02:17 AM

Cut down the booze to weekends only and not too much.
Working out 5 times a week (an hour and 15 minutes each session)
Drinkingmore water
Not eating too much
Eating better food

Been doing this for a couple of years now and it shows.

Start working out, after a while, you'll feel guilty when you don't and that's when it pays !

sojproductions 01-10-2012 03:13 AM

gym 3-5 times per week, as much golf as possible, time is a factor tho, not enough of it!

michel 01-10-2012 03:39 AM

Ride my bike to work 3-5 times a week. 10 miles x2 as fast as I can. So thats around 75 minutes total work out a day x3-5

AllAboutCams 01-10-2012 04:04 AM

ride a bike and walking would be the best

Weights work, I just wish I was able to get in a gym that didn't have everyone clamoring all the time and pissing on each other to use a weight station.

All of the above.

No need to do all this amazingly complex calorie counting etc

Eat healthy - cut out all the takeaway crap - eat fruit, cook vegies, rice, chicken, fish etc

Control portion size - 5 meals a day as Venezuela chic said too.

Have a cheat meal once a week where you can eat whatever you want.

Exercise - walk / wank / move around

NaughtyRob 01-10-2012 07:23 PM

At this time, I don't keep in shape but I am going to star working out and walking. Just found out I have slightly high blood pressure, I am getting old. Gotta get off my ass more.

Be sure to count those liquid calories, especially if you like to drink the booze.

I've lost 80 lbs in less than a year (from 260 pounds down to 180), primarily by abstaining from alcohol (I was a heavy drinker - a 5th of Bacardi, 750 ml daily with 2 liters of Diet Coke), and instituting regular moderate exercise (walking a minimum of 1-1/2 miles every day, and playing 1-2 hours of doubles tennis 3-4 times per week).

I want to get back into bicycling, but I am still recovering from a fall that injured my tailbone about 3 months ago... :helpme

Oh yeah, I have eliminated almost all fast food from my daily intake, and I have cut way back on a few things I enjoy (such as pizza), by coming up with recipes that incorporate many of the same ingredients prepared in more healthy ways.

I'm gradually moving more towards a more vegetarian diet, although I will always be a vaginatarian, 'cuz I do like to eat pussy. :Graucho

Bon apetit :food-smil02

Make a green drink with a good blender.

chaze 01-10-2012 07:39 PM

What you eat is 80% of staying in shape, working out is more for staying toned which defeats itself if you eat too much.

Eat oatmeal in the morning, a tuna or BBJ sandwich in the afternoon, use a foreman for chicken breasts or a hamburger patty for dinner. If you do this most of the time you can eat out and each junk time to time with no major issues.

Also take a multi vitamen that you have to each day.

Down here we got our act clean yesterday, and we plan to start getting our act clean tomorrow, but we never clean up our act today.

JenniDahling 01-10-2012 08:16 PM

I keep saying I'll go to the gym "tomorrow," but of course, that never happens. I have an Xbox Knect, Wii Fit, and various other fitness like things, and I know where to find them, but have moved them around more than I used them.

So I rely on keeping reasonably healthy food in the house, cereal, whole grain breads, fresh fruit/veggies, cook mostly chicken, ground chicken and fish, and often find myself so friggen busy, that I rely on frozen veggies, brown rice, and prepackaged/rinsed salads. String cheese is great to stave off munchies, I like the peppered jack. For sweet munchies, the fiber bars like Fiber Plus and Fiber One are great to kill chocolate and sweet cravings.

Then I try to just put more activity in my normal movements... jog up the stairs instead of walking, do lunges and squats while brushing my teeth, and often remind myself to suck in my gut and stand up straight (actually challenging at first).

The one thing I know I at least do right is drink a ton of water daily and take good supplements.

I started noticing my body's shape changing slightly, not super noticeable but enough to tell the difference with clothes, and the only variable I can identify to be different, is the use of an inversion table. I first got it a few weeks ago, on a suggestion from my doctor for back pain, and not only has it made a difference with my back, I think I'm seeing more tone in my torso.

Maybe the whole regimen may seem odd, but hopefully you can glean some inspiration from it. I'm 45 years old, have had 3 natural births (average birth wt - 8 lbs), and sit on my ass for most part of the day and night, like many of the slaves to online here.

Before you try stimulants, try something different in your routine/lifestyle and best of luck.

I know you are trying to be positive and give advice! but this is just too ridiculous! I eat with chopsticks every day because I live in Asia and it does not slow me down one bit

of course if you don't know how to use them it is pretty frustrating .. but if you are going to eat everything with chopsticks don't you think that after a while you will get the hang of it and it will feel just as natural as a fork and knife??

in case you doubt! IT DOES.. I could eat a pizza in 5 minutes with chopsticks if I wanted to... this tip is just too stupid ! :thumbsup:thumbsup:1orglaugh

I second this.

While I don't personally eat with them, I see people who do every day, and they can DEVOUR food with them. My GF is one of them, she can eat more and faster than a Marine, but she is able to burn it all off. Amazing.

I agree, the whole idea behind this is doing your best not to devour, and of course if you are really used to eating with them it would not make any difference but given that the main point of the OP was laying off junk food and over eating, IŽm guessing he is not putting away those pizzas with chopsticks.

I have tried it because other girls dieting recommended it and it works, clearly the idea behind it is having smaller bites at the time and taking your time to eat a smaller portion (it has to be a conscious effort).

If what you have in mind is pigging out nothing is gonna stop you :winkwink:

Congrats with your progress with the gym, the food thing, I say, don't worry about it... live life, enjoy!
I only wish fast food restaurants did bite size burgers, so you could order one of everything, for the taste... I end up ordering 3 maybe 4 burgers & eating it all... Chicken, burger, kebab & maybe some pizza :thumbsup

I haven't worked out properly for a few years & I can tell... I'll be honest, I was lucky as I'd trained since I was 9 3 maybe 4 times a week, so was already in great shape.... Needing to start again shortly, I wonder if I can hold out for just another year!?!?!

The golf has so much walking, it can definitely keep the body trim, but no way shall burn off the fat like the gym :2 cents:
