$185k for the application - not the infrastructure (ICANN needs to know you actually can run an extension), the deposit that ICANN requires (up to $300k) or the marketing you'd have to do once it's approved for people to even know about it.

Eh, that's close to being true, but it's not quite that simple.

ICM's agreement with ICANN gives them the right to challenge newly proposed adult-specific domains, but it's not true that their contract automatically precludes new adult TLDs from being established.
