I'm looking for a certain code for greyed out background pop up box
 

Was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction...

Surfer clicks a link... the background gets grey and a pop up box requires some type of input or X out. If X out surfer remains on the page they were on. If the fields are filled out surfer gets forwarded to the page they wanted.

Anyone know where I can look for this code?

jquery with ajax

start with lightbox and go from there

you dont need jquery, and this is not ajax related whatsoever.

lightbox is a better start, but very bloated. its really just css and a small bit of javascript.
