I wouldn't/couldn't recommend this. Want to cut carbs? I'd be happy to help. Cut proteins? Not something I'd suggest.

i don't see how a vegan diet is cutting proteins.
You will need B12. It was at one time found on vegetables but pesticides and ardent washing put an end to that. Do you live near a Whole Foods? Go get some Hemp Milk that's fortified with B12. Its better to "eat it," as opposed to take a vitamin. Iron is fine. Do you eat spinach? Lima Beans? Potatoes? The best thing you can do on a vegan diet is invest in a good juicer. |

At times i want to eat some chicken badly, but i get over it somehow. I did that because my doc said to cut meat for a month, so i did and went on... now, its ok but I keep thinking if i get enough of what i should be getting... |

despite the low carb trend vegan and vegetarian diets are very healthy and you will live longer, feel better and find it easier to keep weight off.
just eat a wide range of foods and just don`t replace meat with other animal proteins. |

Tuna is meat.. you eat that often and you are more than covered with regards to b vitamins and omega 3's 6's Milk is good too.. You should be all covered. Borsch sounds interesting, haven't tried that yet. as for my vegan friends, i would like to see this magical land of longevity where people live long healthy lives by avoiding meat and meat products completely.. In my life i have known a handful of people in their 90's a small few in their hundreds (some family members) and none of them were vegan. I have yet to come across a vegan that is over 70 or older though.. do they exist? I'm sure there are a few, but not enough to prove much... |
that being said, i think people eat far too much meat, especially the red stuff, myself included so not pushing 3 steaks a day here now ;)
I do eat meals without meat in other words, i just think balance is better. |

You have a good doctor. Most other people rely on pills. If you can get a juicer and some fortified products with B12, you are good. You can get B12 vitamins, just makes sure you don't over do it. You don't need a ton. Everyone says eating a plant based diet is bad. But go look at the health situation for a western diet compared to those cultures that eat closer to vegan. I mean, end of day, what else do you need? You are now pain free and not on meds? You win... |

http://www.time.com/time/interactive...668275,00.html Length of life can be a major fallacy. Its the quality of the life lived that matters most. The two are not always linked. |

I don't care what people choose to eat, I think if you feel well, and you sleep at night, go for it. But I find it odd that anyone thinks a vegan is some unhealthy being. There are plenty of vegans that fight in MMA. I think there is a pretty good tight end in the NFL doing the same : ) I box and surf. I feel great. I really never eat meat. I rarely get sick. Its not some hippie trend for me, its about health. For me, it works very well. |
