John McCain wants urinating soldiers punished, agree?

Appearing Thursday on "CBS This Morning," the Arizona Republican said, "There should be an investigation and these young people should be punished."

agree or not?

Overload 01-12-2012 08:42 AM

punish the ones who send them there FIRST...

Emil 01-12-2012 09:46 AM

uhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah, what's wrong with that?

Ahhh, now I get it.
They should be able to do whatever they want all over the world, after all, they are AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott McD 01-12-2012 09:47 AM

Reasons for no punishment ??

candyflip 01-12-2012 09:49 AM

Who gives a shit what McCain has to say?

Have to agree. There is a long line of people who should be punished before these boys.

alias 01-12-2012 09:53 AM

Murika fuck yeah!

Rochard 01-12-2012 09:53 AM

I'm a former US Marine. This is disgusting. Clearly, this is not the way US Marines should be conducting themselves in a foreign country. They need to get the book thrown at them. Send them to Leavenworth for the next twenty years.

This is unacceptable.

ColBigBalls 01-12-2012 09:56 AM

If you teach people to kill without remorse or moral conduct. Well you get what you get. Rather then be discusted with the results of war why not examin the reasons we go to war.

No more than an Article 15.

I've seen you post this several times now before making a post. We get it. Perhaps you can put it in your sig?

mattz 01-12-2012 10:09 AM

No punishment for urination, I'm selling t-shirts

seeandsee 01-12-2012 10:11 AM

It's bad pratice, but nobody will be punished...

sperbonzo 01-12-2012 10:17 AM

Disciplinary action? Of course. Hey didn't actually say WHAT he meant by "punished"

.

How about examining the reasons we go to war AND when military action is required expecting our forces who represent us to conduct themselves appropriately? Perhaps if you arm young men and train them to fight, you should train them to do it right, rather than giving them guns and then letting them do whatever they want?

I fully understand that war fucks people up. I don't get angry at soldiers and marines who go a little nuts. I do think we have to make it clear that we don't condone the behavior, though.

On this the Obama administration and McCain agree, if our forces are there, they represent our country, and they are expected to conduct themselves as representatives of you and I.

Tom_PM 01-12-2012 10:43 AM

McCain hasnt been the same since 2000 when GWB trashed him in the eyes of the religious right in the south carolina primaries. IMHO.

TurboAngel 01-12-2012 11:52 AM

I think it's disgusting they did that.

pornmasta 01-12-2012 12:41 PM

If talibans catch you, they stole your clothes...

cykoe6 01-12-2012 12:45 PM

I assume they broke some procedures and deserve some kind of reprimand....... but McCain should be ashamed of himself for trying to score political points by demanding a witch-hunt. It does reflect a lack of proper military discipline perhaps, but there is no moral obligation to show respect to a barbaric enemy. I would have pissed on them too. It was just stupid to film it and provide a propaganda bonanza for the enemy.

Phoenix 01-12-2012 12:48 PM

I dont think anyone in here can really judge them

they get shot at all day long...friends of theirs die from these people.
they are in a war zone, while we are bitching about waiting too long in a bank line up.

pissing on people who were shooting machine guns at them? blowing them up?

get over it...want to pound your chest and claim top honour then get on a plane and go over there to take part..otherwise keep it to yourself

beerptrol 01-12-2012 12:49 PM

just have them whip it out and slap it a couple of times with a wooden yard stick

Nikki_Licks 01-12-2012 12:56 PM

Fuck John Wayne McCain, he is a worthless fuck :321GFY

I'm inclined to agree with this. I would also imagine they've done worse over there. To be effective, a soldier pretty much needs to dehumanize the enemy. When that happens you get stuff like this. Actually it's pretty tame compared to what I've heard first hand from many veterans of various wars.

puppies are innocent....these guys weren't
killing puppies for fun is sickness.
they arent killing these people for fun....the us government sent them there to kill these people....and these people have bombs and kill their friends.

it is hard for any of us to understand as i bet only 5 members or so on this board have actually been in a gun fight overseas. You know where people try to kill you. or blow you up.

getting in a fight cause someone spilled ketchup on your girlfriend doesn't put you in the same realm as these people risking their lives so you can have cheaper gasoline prices.

As i said, not slagging on you or anyone else, but i suggest you go and serve in a forward battle area for awhile before whipping out your lynch rope.

Where did you go to battle?
was it scary? much respect to you for risking your life in battle.
i still think we have to cut these guys some slack though.
not everyone can face the terror of battle and seeing their friends killed as well as you did.

Yes it is tame...that is why I will notify my congressman in protest if they are given anything worse than an Article 15. I personally do not think they even deserve an Article 15. The action really only deserves an ass chewing.

I do not think he is a Combat Vet but I may be mistaken.

You can't stop dumb, brutal human behavior with any kind of program. But the Army should probably have a government sponsored program that teaches soldiers fundamental common sense shit like:

Not to videotape themselves doing fucked up, inhumane things to dead bodies.

Proper conduct is a part of their military training.

FreeHugeMovies 01-12-2012 01:43 PM

We ask them to KILL on our behalf AND then we expect them to act civilized after a heated battle? They need a good yelling but nothing else.

I was in the military also. I realize that there's training in how to represent the US Armed Forces in the most positive manner possible. I'm just saying the battlefield will be the battlefield, men will be men, and sometimes is this probably the best they can do, considering all the stress and bullshit they deal with on a daily basis.

exactly..letting someone film them was really stupid

moeloubani 01-12-2012 01:52 PM

the top guys should definitely get some blame from this

everyone who has served knows how much racism is pushed on these people the whole time...they teach you to hate your enemy for any reason and one of the best reason is that they are 'towelheads' or whatever but it leads to an attitude of no respect for the person they are fighting

what are they doing in afghanistan still anyways? get the fuck out of the middle east you guys are going broke wtf?

2intense 01-12-2012 01:54 PM

yes,i agree

$5 submissions 01-12-2012 02:01 PM

Afghanistan isn't called the GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES for no reason...

It wouldn't be surprising to see the US face bankruptcy within 30 years due to its adventures in the last 10 years

The solution? RON PAUL'S IDEAS!

Goldmaniacs 01-12-2012 02:01 PM

Punishment should vary according to their record, if they're good servicemen otherwise then no more than some disciplinary action.

CIVMatt 01-12-2012 02:02 PM

The result of people being in war way too long and suffering from extreme stress, none of you have ever experienced combat, therefore you should think twice before ranting out on these soldiers.

Sure, what they did is cruel, but what is the treatment the Taliban gives coalition soldiers? Torture, and a video of the captive being beheaded.

LOL!

Those guy broke so many military rules it's stupid.

Of course they will be punished.

Paul Markham 01-12-2012 02:32 PM

Agree. They should be punished for stupidity of letting someone film them.

Phoenix 01-12-2012 02:57 PM

funny video

Wilbo 01-12-2012 02:59 PM

So they are allowed to kill them, but not piss on them? Who cares if they piss on them? Did they cut off their ears or dismember them? War is war. As far as atrocities go this wouldn't even make it on the top 100,000 for the year. A big fuss is being made over nothing.
