I love retro consoles and games.

Sega Megadrive and Mega CD are still my faves!!

Yngwie 01-12-2012 01:13 PM

I still have a NES, Super Nintendo and N64 all with games, but my brother now has possession of everything. Had a Sega master System, but it died.

The first system I owned was an Atari 2600, upgraded to a 7800, and then when Nintendo was being advertised it was like the world had changed! If you had a Nintendo, you were kid's house that had their basement filled with all the other neighborhood kids.

I LOVE SNES

mario world is perfect

NaughtyRob 01-12-2012 01:21 PM

I still pull out the NES once in a while.

bronco67 01-12-2012 01:26 PM

I was in the SuperNES generation. Never played the old 8bit system.

I remember having an Atari when I was little, and playing that stupid adventure game with the dragons and keys in 3 rooms. It was a bunch of squares that beeped and buzzed, but it may have well been Uncharted back then.

Just went and played some Metroid. I had to leave though, or I will get nothing done all day. I use to LOVE that game.

I spent many hours playing Bond on N64 along with Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball. I remember it was pretty advanced at that time, first console (and I think game) to split the screen into four player and have them interact.

brassmonkey 01-12-2012 02:13 PM

emulator + roms = FUN! google them :pimp im going to play dune think it was on genesis

i loved the ken griffey for snes... had the 93 jays woohoo!

have any of you hear of the angry video game nerd? He does video reviews of old school nintendo games mostly. They are pretty funny because he freaks out quite a bit. As most of us often forget those games, as good as they were, were also EXTREMELY hard to play and even harder to finish, usually took weeks if not months to finish without help.

There's a cheat to that...

The only reason I still have a Wii, the ability to download the old NES, SNES and N64 games. But, if you stop in the middle of playing, it remembers exactly where you are. So games like Metroid, where you couldn't really save, you can stop anywhere, and pick right back up where you left off. No more uninterrupted 72 hour game sessions.

the exploding rabbit guy?

PenisFace 01-12-2012 05:30 PM

Old NES game I played when I was a kid, first person sort of deal, move the crosshairs around on the screen and shoot the bad guys as they pop up. I still remember how blown away I was by that.

I think it was called Cabal, or Kabal or something like that. Was to young to remember any details other than shooting guys arcade shooter style.

V_RocKs 01-12-2012 05:55 PM

I have that on my phone... don't need an actual console.

BlackCrayon 01-12-2012 06:15 PM

my girlfriend loves playing the old nes games. i had a system around from when i was younger and she still plays it.

Anyone own a Dingoo? Looks like a fun toy.
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/dingoo-...-mini-sd-20217

I've tried to play games on my phone but the touchscreen make it very hard and not even fun.

bronco67 01-13-2012 05:49 AM

This thread made nostalgic, so I got the SNES emulator for my Android phone. After playing a few games, I said to myself, "Oh yeah. Even though games seemed good at the time, they really sucked donkey dick compared to today."

I'm not just talking about the obvious things like graphics, but even the science of game design was no where near as matured as it is today.

martinsc 01-13-2012 07:22 AM

yeah the games have come along way from back then for sure! but classic games like mike tyson's punchout, contra, excitebike are just plain silly fun! blades of steel?!?
but yes, todays games are just nuts! graphics, game play, story/plot insane how much production/quality goes into them!
Cheers

OverdueNudes 01-13-2012 03:51 PM

Very nice. I played that game a few days ago it is a good feeling when you can name almost all the characters used. Or is it pathetic?

Dead 01-13-2012 05:30 PM

Was just watching the kids playing the latest release of Zelda! They grew up watching, and learning how to navigate temples....I love the whole series.

I started with Pitfall, and the rest was history

The first computer game was Frontier something or another, I was at school and fell in love with the cmd prompt. Just looked it up , Oregon Trail, crazy shit

SexSearchSuzanne 01-13-2012 05:31 PM

I have my NES with I think it's almost 200 games now and a bunch of accessories, no ROB though, I'm jealous.

waltgator 01-14-2012 01:40 PM

heck yeah! gonna have to look for a ROB unit! those things were trippy/funny!

danevans 01-14-2012 05:17 PM

didn't play this game but I did spend alot of time playing NARC, similar gameplay, was awesome at the time

candyflip 01-14-2012 07:03 PM

I managed to snag a bunch of those $99 HP Touchpads and they all run Android at this point.

I just installed a bunch of emulators and roms, then synced up with my PS3 controllers. This is portable retro gaming heaven.

91' Giants, Phil Simms, Mark Bavaro, Dave Megget, L.T., Pepper Johnson; that team was awesome. I think there was a glitch in that game though because if you picked a team that had the flea flicker in their playbook you could dominate whoever.
