Which do you guys think is the best original name to go with branding wise?

1) Webhost is it!
2) The webhost of a new generation.

What's the difference between you and the other 50,000 hosts? "Gigs for cheap" will sell certain people. "Professional hosting for professional webmasters" targets a different market. I say pick the market you can serve better than anyone else can, then brand based on that.

As I suggest that, I want to make clear I'm NOT suggesting you use something like "server performance experts" if in fact you're a newbie, quite the opposite of an expert. Customers and potential customers will find out and not be happy. Figure out what you really do well and market that.

I couldn't disagree with you more, it actually bothers me to hear people discourage other peoples momentum with such negative inconclusive rhetoric.

Everyone is so hung up on the next big thing and lose site that there is billions of people that want services and all have their own reasons for choosing who they do business with.

More important is just to focus on getting new customers. I don't care of you sell toilet paper, software, hosting, or organic carrot sticks, if you do it well, think long term, and stay ethical (yes there is business karma) then you will get customers period.

Agreed.

What humors me to no end is that many want to be the next Google, Facebook whatever. When in reality they should focus on something that is of their scale to manage effectively, and make a good living. You could do a kick ass network or site locally that would crush most local competitors and make you a hansom ransom in monthly recurring.

You dominate your local town, and then even selling $50/100.00 ad spots you could make a decent living off of minimal work once you have it all set up. You may need to retool how you work, in regards to Chamber of Commerce, B.N.I. groups and get out of your underwear, but it can be done. There is money everywhere. You just have to want to work, and go get some.

:2 cents:

Apparently I wasn't clear in what I said, because although you said "I couldn't disagree with you more", you then said kind of the same things I did.

Seems to me that we agree more than we disagree.
