I knew I was in love when I stopped thinking about what I had with my ex-wife and started thinking about what I wanted with my new love (now my wife).

Friends told me I used to mention my ex in every conversation some how. When that stopped being the main topic of conversation, even they knew I was in love - without even knowing if I was dating anyone else.

oh trust me, as a lover of the drink, i have tried to have some drinks, but i find myself wondering why I am even doing it, so I stop... i had two sips of champagne on new years,... thats it... was a big part of my life for so long and took everything i had to stop, now I just shake my head at the wasted decade of daily drinking...

The prob is we have crazy good sex so I'm not sure if it's love or lust. I have learned so many thing's about myself this last year and I think he pulls out the better side of me. I never thought I could be so patient until now.

I get the butterflies and all that when he calls, my roommate tells me that after I see him I like happy as hell for a few days. There's only one bad thing about it his wife of 20 years passed a year ago on the 29th of this month so that kinda makes things hard.

Don't judge she fought cancer for 4 years unfortunately, he was there 100% and looked after her the whole time. The first time we went out was Feb 18th, May is when the dating thing started I think.

You'll have a clearer picture in 3-6 months if you still feel the same.

I refuse to say stupid those things that other people do to profess love for their significant other -- and believe me, if she asked, or tried to force me to say it, I'd have serious doubts about whether or not I should be with her.

Anyway, I think you know you love someone when you can spend extended periods of time with him/her, and come back for a second helping with a smile. When we were stuck in our house for days watching movies during last year's snow storms, we didn't want it to end.

I am truely in love with my lady and there wasn't a specific time. It was more like a wave that came over me one day. I can't live the rest of my life without this woman. You will definitely know. The feeling cannot be mistaken. Love is a brutal bitch though as it ever changes.

The difference between LUST and LOVE:

After you have sex if you leave its LUST. If you stay and cuddle for the night its LOVE.

To answer your original question, it's not something I can put a finger on about when, where or how I personally knew, but at some point (I think about three months in actually ...) I knew that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I couldn't imagine spending it with anyone else instead. I don't think there is a way I could even start to explain how I knew he was the one, I just knew.

I believe you know it when you feel it in your bones (and no, not your boner, your bones). Ive been blessed to REALLY feel this way 1x in my life...and I let him tell me he loved me first before I told him I loved him. I still feel his love for me and Im sure he still feels mine for him, THATS how you KNOW.

I think when you trust implicitly rather than doubt it's a good sign.
