Acceptable Conversion Rate

So I have an ad up on my site. It's above the fold to the left and square and I've had about 355 click thru's and no sign ups in the last couple weeks. It's with pimp roll.

What is an acceptable click through rate I should accept before changing my ad? I'm guessing with porn it would be like 2000 to 1 or something?

Damn if I had this kind of click through on my non porn adsense site I'd be making big buck.

I think if you were more specific on the type of traffic you are sending to the program, people could give you a better answer, in regards to an average conversion ratio.

For instance, if you were sending Chinese traffic bought from a broker, you will probably have a lower conversion rate than SE traffic coming from the USA.

Where is your traffic from? Which site(s) are you promoting? What type of website do you have? Where are your visitors/uniques from? Are the tours targeted to the users geo?....

...just a few questions you should answer, before we can shout out any suggestions

acceptable is by the person and site. If I know for a fact that the ad spot is targeted to the traffic and it has not converted by that time, I would remove it.

if its not targeted then leave it.

Nowadays a ratio of 1:2000 is very good.

I had also similar con rate of 1:2000, but I have mostly US traffic, no asians...you can lead adult traffic to sites with adsense, I have tried it for several months and everything worked fine

I have mostly google traffic but about a quarter from back links I created. The backlinks are relevant to my niche. But it's a blog with ads on it. But the main ads, top and left of the page is a similar topic to my niche.

You can lead them to normal sites but do you trick them? Thinking they are clicking on a porn link. Does your adsense site suffer because it has back links from porn sites?

How do you work into the topic that they should click on a link for a website different from your porn topic?

This idea sounds interesting to me.

it also depends on the product. if you are promoting a video product on your site, you have a higher conversion than on a dating site?

I'm in a similar dilemma; I'm new to this though so I don't know what to expect really. I get an average of 350 visits a day now but I know to get good conversions I likely need to be in the thousands. My site is a database of GGG/John Thompson girls that is fairly unique to the web and I get clicks to the ads but no signups. Likely because so much is free online! I was considering Adsense but was unfamiliar with the adult variations. If anyone has any advice on what types of ads to display I'm all ears. Thus far I only have sign ups with a few major sites (recently including GGG).

I was using nofollow link from my site to site with adsense. Many people say you have to null the refferal (adsense can see from which site the visitor comes). I was using this for 3-4 month and then get paid. Now im using it without direct link, just text. Something like go here. But you should have some other traffic from SE or buy some (avaid having high CTR).

I have created site about STDs, so people who watch porn sometimes read also this and it offers quite high clicks value.
