Pirate Bay to allow real-object downloads
The Pirate Bay, one of the world's most infamous online piracy and file-sharing sites, is now hosting a type of mock-up file that allows your 3D printer to create physical objects.

The benefit to society is huge. No more shipping huge amount of products around the world. No more shipping the broken products back. No more child labour. We'll be able to print food for hungry people. We'll be able to share not only a recipe, but the full meal. We'll be able to actually copy that floppy, if we needed one. |
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I can't believe they're trying to look legit -- and with some stupid bullshit about changing the world by printing mac and cheese for poor kids, and getting rid of all that child labor that makes our Nike sneakers. They're so magnanimous. Bless them.
that article gave me the best laugh I've had in a while. |

The claims made in this article sound like science fiction that isn't anywhere near being science fact.
I'm not talking about the general 3D printing thing. That's been around for years. But printing food? WTF? Did the 12 year olds that run Pirate Bay cook this bullshit up? Do they think anyone is stupid enough to believe that they want to stomp out hunger and fight for people's civil rights? |

Gotta add this to the list too. This one may come sooner than the CNC :thumbsup |
That is so 80īs. When they were in diapers, programmers were already feeding robots and machines with instructions to produce a physical product.
There is nothing revolutionary about that idea. |

quoted from the Pirate Bay idiots
----------------------We believe that the next step in copying will be made from digital form into physical form. It will be physical objects. Or as we decided to call them: Physibles. Data objects that are able (and feasible) to become physical. We believe that things like three dimensional printers, scanners and such are just the first step. We believe that in the nearby future you will print your spare sparts for your vehicles. You will download your sneakers within 20 years.--------------------------- If you really look at what they're saying here, it fits with their mentality. I've joked before that if people could download their sneakers, they would because there'd be no consequences for stealing it off the internet. The Pirate Bay wants everything to be downloadable so that no one ever has to pay for anything again. We can just download our furniture, clothes, food and anything we need to live, while the magic elves make everything behind the scenes. It's almost like a movie villian's megalomaniacal plan to take over the world. |
Too many Star Trek reruns :1orglaugh |
sounds cool to me. no reason for people to toil like slaves if they don't have too.
