Anyone check out "LUCK" on HBO ?
 

Saw it last night, I think it was just OK, hope it improves, give it a couple of more episodes to see what happens. Dont think it's up to par, with Sopranos, Deadwood , or Boardwalk :2 cents:

def no sopranos deadwood etc..not sure how long they can pull this one off...degenrate gambling on horseracing really doenst draw in the big crowds...should have went with casinos,hookers,poker tourney tour,mob instead of the horse track

Most of the HBO shows are "slow burn". I'd give it a at least half a season, because they're not going to shove anything earth shattering down your throat to hook you. You just have to have faith that HBO usually delivers.

I had no idea what the fuck anyone was talking about, but I still liked it. I felt like i was getting to see a world I know nothing about.

I think I'll give it a try.....

Yeah that's part of it, the racing terms etc and the mumbling delivery, make me want to watch it over again so I can understand it fully :winkwink:

Haven't seen it but it looks good.

I liked it.. but I also was at Santa Anita on Saturday betting the ponies, drinking beer and the KROQ food truck rally too, good times won some races too!! I think it will get much better give it time.

Tried watching it but I know fuckall about horse betting so didn't make much sense, dialogue was hard to understand too. Without the a-list actors I doubt I'd have kept watching and it was hard to care. Might give it one more episode but being confused and bored aren't good for audience members

HBO usually delivers so I'll no doubt give it a chance.

In other news I just caught the 1st episode of the new season of Sparticus. More blood gore and sex than ever. The new guy playing him will take a bit of getting used to though.

If I dont have anything better to do, I will watch it again, just because the dialouge is muddled and hard to understand in quite a few places:winkwink:

Honestly I have to watch each episode twice to make sure I understand. So far I like it.
But the show does stroke some pleasure points with me like gambling.
