strange traffic/ sales behavior...

Let's say that I send steady amount and quality of traffic to various sponsors. Traffic is almost the same - its source, quantity and quality....Sponsor 1:
How would you explain that in 1 day I can get x sales, when later 0 sales for around 10 days ? Sponsor 2:
I sent steady traffic whole month. For period till 15th I get steady amount of sales, but after 15th it drops to 4 times less - ie from 20 to 5...And that last situation is for like 4 month in row...

How would you explain that ? ;-)

Sponsor 1: Day 1 is luck, and shouldn't be expected every day thereafter. Could have had 0 sales for 10 days and then X amount on the 10th day.
Sponsor 2: The promotion method has staled? A lot of things start off well and then make a sharp decline after your most profitable surfers have joined already.
:2 cents:

I was going to say basically the same thing. Getting lucky once doesn't guarantee consistent sales.. Check your source of the sale and repeat what worked.

There are a lot of other things that will make a difference like if your content that you are promoting gets overpromoted or on the other end if its too micro niche its hard to have consistent sales and have to work on multi niches or rebills, the source that the traffic is coming from could change depending if you promote with SEO or link/traffic trades, maybe someones stuffing cookies, etc.. :thumbsup

I'm not saying any names, but some shady sponsors will credit an affiliate with one quick sale, usually with no referrer info, to keep that affiliate promoting their content and never meet the minimum... Doesn't happen too often, but it happens.

How is that possible if that situation happens every month ? ->>> sales till 15 th, after 15th far lower sales....

or how about you get a consistent 1:600 ratio with one sponsor, then they switch to NATS4 and you get NO SALES for months.

To have the exact same pattern 4 months in a row with no slight deviations doesnt look good for the sponsor.

First and last of the month tends to be best for me. Nearer payday is the theory. You should have picked up last of Jan as many seemed to have done. Better then say from the 10th to the 15th which was terrible for me.

20 signups/period is good traffic and you should not dip like that every month for a whole period. Sounds like a shave.

The sponsor has a mortgage to pay.
