Anybody know of any good sites for finding sites, domains, businesses for sale?

Hey Everybody! How's it going? I was wondering if any of you know of any sites that are good for seeing websites and businesses for sale? Curious to see what's available :thumbsup

porno jew 02-03-2012 06:11 AM

that was quick.

Barefootsies 02-03-2012 06:18 AM

Adult? Nope. GFY & XBIZ.

If you want mainstream, FLIPPA is probably the biggest.

I have been looking myself. I feel your pain.

Thanks. Not interested in adult looking for mainstream.

DamageX 02-03-2012 06:25 AM

Yeah, Flippa is the way to go. Or you can always go on the BST forums on DP and get scammed by some Indian. :Graucho

:1orglaugh I know. I did it to myself. I rented the sickest Villa I've ever seen here in the South of France for the winter and it's giving me the itch to make money. I've also been looking to move to Monaco and I'm getting the feeling if you don't have $100+million in Monaco you are poor.

I figured might as well start researching what people are selling as well as keeping up to date with what the trends are online and keep my eyes open for any opportunities that may fit for me. That way when something good comes along I'll be ready hopefully :winkwink:

I think the smartest way would be to actually start at the ground level and learn the trade. Mainstream is quite different from adult (DUH), not least in the way of driving and monetizing traffic. Not to mention you don't need nearly as much of it as you do in adult, to make more money.

Once you get the hang of it at the ground and upper level, it's easier to assess what properties for sale are actually worth it. Not to mention you will also have the knowledge of improving sites, which may well have been undervalued/undermonetized by their previous owner. Outsource all mundane tasks and keep scaling up.

Then you can retire a second time. :1orglaugh

Sssshhhh... Don't tell my wife! She still hopes I'll retire fairly soon and not spend all my days online. :1orglaugh

Besides, WTF am I gonna do, take care of the kids? Nah, fuck that, there's always daycare...

Anything along the line of "You keep saying you'll retire, but you never really retire"? If so, I know that one all too well. :1orglaugh

Usually businesses that are worth buying don't advertise that. There are a few sites around listing businesses in search of capital - I'd tend to stay away from such sources, though (unless you know VERY well the market they are in). A healthy business in search for capital to grow, tends to have other channels.

It's quite different in angel investing, though - there you can find potentially good stuff online if you have a "spread and hope" mentality.

Flippa was good when it started but now it's full of shitty sites that have been thrown together in the last 2 days.

stocktrader23 02-03-2012 10:19 AM

Hey Shap, I have a few fun / interesting ones I've been looking to start. At least one of them could scale to as big as you'd like and they are fairly inexpensive to get going. Are you a lone ranger?

Yeah lots of potentials on LinkedIN, especially if you are interested in startups

fris 02-03-2012 10:36 AM

flippa of course, or try the bigger mainstream forums like v7n, dnforum, etc

EroTechnology 02-03-2012 10:49 AM

Nowhere near as large as Flippa but worth a look - http://websitebroker.com/

Phoenix 02-03-2012 10:55 AM

Why not pick a niche in mainstream and develop your own stuff?
We are well underway in our mainstream adventure. Hoping to have version 1.0 ready for sale in 2-3 months. Could always use a war chest to attack the market with... ;) jk
Feels awesome to have something to talk about that isn't porn related.

This guy is a pretty good read and a good guy to get in touch with to see what's available. Been following him since his WallStrip days and he's pretty good at finding opportunities and executing them. http://howardlindzon.com/

PornMD 02-03-2012 11:02 AM

BizBuySell.com is run by WSJ. Also, if you'd buy domains without sites, I sell mainstream domains.

Zorgman 02-03-2012 11:09 AM

Make mobile game applications for Iphone/ipad. Huge market for that shit atm.

Check out latonas.com. Rick has some good stuff listed there from time to time.

Beautiful place. I bet all the locals are talking about how Ricky Martin moved into the hood.

I agree 100%. I just want to do some research and leg work and see what people are up to and what's out there. I have plenty of time so if I can find that one diamond in the rough it would be worth it :) And if not nothing lost (hopefully lol)

The house is built on a mountain side so space is an issue. The driveway is narrow so you drive down onto the spinner and then spin around to get out. Very useful and would suck balls if it stopped working.

Damn that place is nice. It's funny to see some people asking 3 years profits and others 1 year. I wonder which is adult LOL

SZNY 02-03-2012 03:31 PM

Next door then.

Once had dinner in one of the restaurants on the harbour. Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Tina Turner all eating in the same place at the same time. It was really quite surreal.

On the same trip I went to the classic grand prix in Monaco and the Bonhams classic car auction in Prince Rainiers place. Like you said before, the place really puts wealth into perspective. You think you have enjoyed some financial success then you experience this little corner of Europe.
