Anbody getting mail (letters) from Domain Renewal Group?

How the fuck do you stop these pricks from mailing you like every week.

Wizzo 02-03-2012 11:30 AM

I have 2or3 companies that send me those stupid mails wanting me to renew with them for some ridiculous high price, so can't tell you... :(

The Heron 02-03-2012 11:33 AM

I get em once in a great while. Not sure how to stop em

Create Rule -> Move messages like this to trash.

XPays 02-03-2012 12:08 PM

those and the chinese and taiwan registrars trying to trick people into registering via emails - you gotta filter like Gabe suggested.

No these are coming via the postman.

As in letter (actual paper) to my home address.

Its getting embarrassing as they are using site names.

I have WHOIS set up too on the domains they are using. Its really doing my fucking head in. I have no idea how they are getting this information.

yeh naturally i thought it was like an entity of namecheap or something as i have most of my domains with them so they would have my actual real location. after a few support tickets of saying stop sending me letters i knew it wasn't them.

really want to stop these fuckers.

They come from USA and it looks strangely like the stamp was actually added by a person rather than an automatic stamp.

scottybuzz 02-04-2012 03:34 AM

no answer on the phone? anybody know how to stop this shit?

TommyM 02-04-2012 04:47 AM

I get them too from time to time, I just ignore them and trow them out..

CurrentlySober 02-04-2012 05:05 AM

i use a postal box addy that doesn't appear to be a postal box addy.

HandballJim 02-04-2012 06:32 PM

I get those also via email from a couple companies, only 1 company sends via paper mail. The last 6 months I get emails from several people telling me that certain names are dropping and they can catch the domain for me, since I have similar keywords. But 9 out of 10 times I just keep checking the domain and end up registering it directly with a $1 coupon. In fact some of the domains were really good, thank you scammers for the heads up :thumbsup

rogueteens 02-04-2012 07:50 PM

I get them too.
Write on the letter "not known-return to sender", hopefully they'll get sent back to the usa whith a postage charge :)

If there is a business reply envelope (postage paid by addressee), attach it to a box of bricks or garbage and send it back to them at their expense.

2ndxachrm 02-04-2012 11:39 PM

I get them in emails, regular mail, and lately ive been getting notice about expiring domains that match ones i have. (all mainstream ones) my adult ones are all private registration.

Phoenix 02-04-2012 11:41 PM

There are machines that can make it look like a manual stamp.

The question is are they sending it first or standard class? You can also buy stamps for standard. Old trick we used to do in the mailing industry to get people to pay attention. That and handwritten fonts printed on envelopes with a generic return address that made it look personal.

brassmonkey 02-05-2012 12:29 AM

only on domains i have at godaddy
