It's an older dslr but its all I have.
The camera was fine earlier but I tried taking pics of this lunar halo.
I switched the speed to bulb and wham... :error
It isn't a necessity as I don't shoot porn for a living but it is one of the few things that brings me joy.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :helpme

Thanks

Google seems to say you're screwed and need to send it in for service... But live view might work (guessing Canon 40d)
i'd be curious what happens if you hook it up to your computer and try to use the USB control functions...

I don't shoot porn with my old ass camera but I have shot a nice bitch or two in my time with it. I'm gonna titillate you with some pics in hopes of friendly advice.

Thanks a lot L-Pink. It was a 40d I bought used.
It lasted 2 years so I cant ask for much if its fucked.
I kinda have it in my head its done for but it will be disappointing not to be able to walk out in the evening when the suns going down and the light is perfect and just shooting what I can. Great stress reliever.

Thanks again for the kind words.

You are very welcome. The one in the middle looks like a canine glamour shot! Focus on the eyes, perfect lighting, great smile, perfect teeth ... even looks like a fan is blowing the fur :1orglaugh :thumbsup

Thanks again. I know you and a lot of others here deal with great, professional photogs. I don't really show my pics to anyone other than family who don't work in graphics or web etc and don't care either way lol. That being said I am happy to read ppl with experience like yourself think its a good pic.

I did do a little bit of post on that pic though.

I am sure you guys know how it is with the economy and all.
I will definitely keep this under consideration, thanks for the advice.

The... D90 i think it was looked awesome but I know its old now. The 5100 i think it is would work too I suppose. The next one will have to take hd :1orglaugh.

A few months ago there was a thread by justinsain in Florida. He had some great photos taken with a "gopro" camera. The cameras and accessories are interesting and pretty inexpensive. Since you're shooting for personal fun maybe one of them would be enjoyable.

Thanks a lot for the information. I had seen and been interested in gopro for playing with video but wasn't aware of how well the photo was.

A friend in Canada that was helping me rind remedies for this issue just linked me this which may be useful to anyone needing a new entry level camera in general.

Those pics were nicer than I expected them to be lol.

I know we are talking about photography but the gopro takes decent video as well.

Thanks a lot!

She is the best dog I have ever owned. Kind to all people and animals.
She has hip problems but fights through it to love and please everyone she meets.

I got her right after I got the 40D 2 years ago.
I never had a camera b4 that, not even a handheld and she was a wonderful inspiration to get through the manual and tutorials and figure it all out.

She is a beast now lmao.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I haven't gotten anywhere with the camera but I honestly feel a lot better and have some new thoughts on what to do next due to everyone's feedback, and advice.

Some of you may notice I post silly things a lot but I honestly try to help everyone here I can whenever I can with web or photoshop posts, etc... and this is why. Whenever I need advice or help I always get honest criticism and helpful feedback.

You guys are awesome.
