Use Name.com for your domain add the $3.99 a year WHOIS protection then at checkout use the coupon code: FREEWHOIS and you will get $3.99 off. They do accept PayPal and also offer free two factor authentication for your account so people cannot steal your domains with a keylogger.

If you need shared hosting hit me up: http://i.imgur.com/mrEvI.png

Never register a domain with a host. EVER. Just search Google for: 1&1 Complaints

namecheap has $0.9 whoisguard...

WebairGerard 02-05-2012 10:31 AM

we currently offer $8.99 .com domains with FREE whois Privacy included! You can register here: http://domainreg.webair.com/

:thumbsup

Namecheap offers free whois protection and in my opinion they are the best by far.

baddog 02-05-2012 10:48 AM

Do not use your host as your registrar. $.02

AAB 02-05-2012 11:25 AM

Not worth the hassle. Just reg your own domain with name.com, use FREEWHOIS for free whois and nobody can screw you over. You sound like you're just looking to do some temp stuff after which you'll diss the domain name, but what if by some magic the site takes off? You'll be glad you’re the undisputed owner then.

That could very well be one of the silliest posts I've ever read on GFY :2 cents:

You only say that because you offer the service. :2 cents:

as a couple of others have said, don't register domains and host at the same place.

I lost my main domain name to my first host..............:321GFY

I completely agree with keeping your domains and hosting separate.

And my vote is for name cheap. Free privacy for the first year and its less than 3 dollars a year after that. The more domains you have the better deals on privacy you get.

what reasoning would you have for a client not to register domains through their host?

I cannot wait to hear this =)
