top gear in china

wow

how things have changed

today we had top gear (bbc) in china

i do not think 5 years ago they would have been alowed to film, or if they were, i am sure they would have security with them, keeping an eye on what they were up to.

yet today no problem.

the speed of chinas change is amazing.

they were saying in 5 years we will all be buying chinease cars, and we probably will be.

they were saying they cannot build cars fast enough in china to meet demand.

i think they said 13 million cars are in china.

China lacks one huge thing: Brands

Stew on that for a little bit. South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc all have huge brands. China has nothing that has captured Western attention.

no they don't...

you just can't make brand from China...
anyone knows that...

but you can buy a brand...
those come cheap in (recession) times we live in...

for example in auto industry China bought
Hummer in US and Volvo in Europe...

are Hummer and Volvo brands?

Don't forget they're going to need gas/oil for that... watch for the spike in energy prices..
