OK I will try to make this as brief as possible.

Dan Miller is a guy that have a grea deal of respect for, he has always been straight up and cool to me. He is now with XBiz and has contacted me indicating that Helmy and XBiz would like to extend an olive branch. He has invited me to participate on XBiz.net and to participate as a speaker and or panelist at the coming show in Miami.

His rationale is that XBiz, Helmy and I are not that far apart ideologically and that this hatchet needs to be buried.

My first reaction is to accept and let bygones be bygones.

Today I posted about someone cyber squatting XBiz.net and XBiz notified me that they have never supported or accepted an ad for anything .xxx

I remember Helmy supporting .xxx at least quietly by accepting money from ICMR through ASACP so I did a search here and found this thread from when I was banned

There are things in that thread I would respond to, primarily things from Vendzilla that were flat out fabrications, but at this point I'm inclined to let it go.

Between Manwin and ICMR we are under assault on two fronts and if, ideologically speaking XBiz and I are on the same page I would be honored to accept their offer. If they are helping ICMR in any way that flat out won't happen. Period.

What puzzles me here is the seemingly rewriting of Helmys stand on .xxx If he stood up and at the very LEAST said I didn't do enough to stop it and I may have unknowingly helped I wouldn't have this dilemma, instead the stance is that XBiz (Not Helmy) has never and will never support .xxx

I like Dan Miller and if XBiz welcomes my voice I would be honored to lend it to them, on the other hand if I hae an ICMR banner hanging over my head...well I will pass, my voice is certainly loud enough as it is.

So I am asking here in all earnest, what do you guys think?

JFK...Thanks you are one of the voices here I respect the thing is though if this is an effort to buy credibility through me I'm not inclined to do so. Truth is in all likelihood most of the people in that audience probably read my blog anyway.

On the other hand if we are ideologically close and can work together to help this industry in any way I am all in. the one thing I will NOT do is participate if ICMR or anything.xxx is involved in any way.

XBiz gave Lawyley an opportunity way back when, to have his say at one of the shows, he's been back a few times since. If he can have his say , why not you? You are much closer to this industry, than he ever hopes to be.

Being able to present your ideas and your point of views to an audience is always a good thing. Not everyone is aware of what you do, have your voice heard:2 cents::thumbsup

If there is a ICMR banner above your head, content on it if you feel the need. They asked you to speak - speak. Let them know your stance ahead of time, of course.

Accept the invite. If you later find out that you were misled, strike back with a vengeance.

I agree with Evil Chris.

Speaking at their event does not mean you are selling out. What it means is you will be given a megaphone to speak to others in the industry who may not otherwise hear you or read your blog/posts.

It is an opportunity for you to say the things and ask the questions no one else has been willing to ask or say, or have been contracted not to.

There is a reason Xbiz didn't allow you to post on their board during the .XXX debates, yet they let Stuart Lawley. They didn't want you to be heard then. Now they want to hear you for some odd reason. So go for it. Be heard.

But the question to ask is, who will they put up there with you? If it's going to be someone from Top Bucks to discuss mobile streaming options, you probably won't get to say the things you want to say. However, if it's going to be Lawley and Helmy, or some of the useless twits from the FSC, oh yea... that would be good.

since the whole DL takedown your national profile is as big as theirs, why not try to change from within? They aren't asking to muzzle you; you'd have a bully pulpit.

No one can fight a war on two fronts. Make them give you an agreement that has teeth.

I really do appreciate the feedback here it is constructive and helpful....I guess it's all going to depend on my topic and who else is on the panel or whatever with me.
