Anyone climbed Kilimanjaro?
What kind of training did you do beforehand? Did the different zones present a lot of issues or make it more difficult?
|
A few English celebs did it last year for charity I think it is more a walk rather than a climb. One of them came down with altitude sickness
|
yup, it's a walk, watched a documentary once .... all I climbed in my 10 years in Africa was a few hundred whores
|
Did it a 3 years ago, there are several approaches, its a very hard walk to a serious climb depending on approach
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_K...limbing_routes for routes |
Would love to try K2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K2

i climbed this bad boy and a couple others when i lived out west
Not as big as Kilimanjaro...but big enough, i suggest doing something like this first. Few months of cardio and stress testing your ankles and such should do it. Show up at least 3 days before you climb, watch the weather..and go for it. IF you do Kilimanjaro, i suggest the sherpas..lol http://i1.trekearth.com/photos/81799/mount_rundle3.jpg |
Have only been up there as far sa you can go with a car. Was when I lived for 2 years in Africa as a kid.
