Congrats to MikeAI and TeenyB - Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition
 

Some of you remember MikeAI, AmateurIndex and the first network of amateur teen solo girl sites on the web, plus of course Directnic. Mike and his beautiful wife Katie set off on a quest a few years ago to create a luxury micro bikini line on one of Mike's domains, teenybikini.com, trademark issues were involved so TeenyB was born.

Mike sent me a message today, TeenyB made the SportsIllustrated Swimsuit Edition. In the bikini world, that's the Super Bowl!

Congrats to Mike, Katie, and Ryan - some of you know Ryan, he's still one of us, he works for TeenyB and still runs AmateurIndex.

TeenyB will be bigger than WW one day - WW bikinis are extremely tiny, they are the leaders in that part of the bikini market but TeenyB will reach a broader market.

Congrats! What a great accomplishment.

It is a big accomplishment, when Mike and Katie began this venture, I was kinda dubious, fashion industry has absolutely no connection to anything Mike has done before. Most people from our industry who go into mainstream businesses don't succeed. They had to learn, the hard way, about every facet of the swimwear business, designing, sourcing materials, marketing, retailing and manufacturing. Slowly but surely progress has been made, each season the bikinis get better. Last year they got their bikinis in a Maxim layout.

SI Swimsuit Edition is the tops in the bikini world but Mike says it will take being in it consistently every year to have huge impact.

And Mike would be unhappy if I didn't give most of the credit to Katie - TeenyB has been her baby since the beginning. She designs the swimsuits, chooses and buys the fabric and patterns, even does a lot of the glamour bikini photography herself.
