Jotform domain seized by US due to user generated content

Quote:

As a part of an ongoing investigation about a content posted in our site, a US government agency has temporarily suspended our jotform.com domain. We are fully cooperating with them, but it is not possible to say when the domain would be unblocked.

To make sure your forms continue operating, please change your form URLs on your web site from jotform.com to jotform.net. Here is an example:

Before:
http://www.jotform.com/form/123456789

After:
http://www.jotform.net/form/123456789

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

UPDATE: Many people on the comments assumed the content was posted by us. This can happen to any site that allows public to post content. SOPA may not have passed, but what happened shows that it is already being practiced. All they have to do is to ask Godaddy to take a site down. We have 2 millions user generated forms. It is not possible for us to manually review all forms. This can happen to any web site that allows user generated content.

There were phishing forms being uploaded to the service, it's not a copyright issue.

Great to see sites with pirated content being taken down lately. Sad to see that sites are being taken down at the whim of banks, the recording and movie industry. Pirate or scam anything or anyone you want as long as it doesn't involve the entities above that truly run our country.

Who says they won't?

There are a LOT of pirate sites out there. They can only do one at a time. And what may be high on the list of pornographers sites to be removed may not be high on their list, or even on it at all.

If there are plans to get a lot of them, it will take time. The feds are probably snooping through their emails and skype records looking for slam dunk incriminating evidence. If they did that to MegaUpload, there is no doubt they will use the same tactics on others.

Bad time to be a pirate right now, that's for sure.

Personally, I hope laws are passed that hold advertisers liable for such sites. There is only one way to nip all this in the ass and that is via their wallet.

Yes, that would be part of their wallet. Advertising and processing.

Would love to see the hammer drop on both.

Well if that happened you could sell your porn to DVD companies.

If they do ever manage to somehow get it offline, it will be the best thing ever for porn. All those addicted to online free/cheap porn will have to start paying $30 for a five scene DVD. Like they used to.

Affiliates can open shops.

Or stand outside a shop with a sign saying PORN HERE
