Lost my Paxum card at ATM
That's the good news. The bad news is that my local bank is going to mail it from Europe to the US, only then i get it back. And that damn bank's branch is in 500m from my home, bastards :1orglaugh
Has anyone experienced that? How long does it take? Is there anything I'm supposed to do? How much do I have to pay for all that? |
ouch... that card is gonna go around the world to come back to you... lol.
sorry, no idea how long or if you have to pay.... bump for you. |
I think Paxum could issue you a replacing pass for a fee of $44.95
|
I would try and find out from someone why it was taken by the machine and work from there.
|
thats very strange! I don't think this is normal banking procedure.. I have forgotten my card many times inside an ATM , normally you can just collect it at the bank with photo ID
you should point out to them that normal banking procedures should allow for them to give the card to you , if the bank clerk gives you the runaround ask to talk to a manager |

i've requested him about other procedure, but he confirmed there's no other way. i've also mailed Ruth from Paxum, let's see what she says |

I think you will have to pay for a new one. |

the normal procedure is indeed to send it to the bank that issued the card.. unless of course the person that lost the card comes and claim it and can proof with photo id that it is his card I mean in all reality how in earth are you going to know that there is a card stuck in that machine with your name on it if it would not be actually your card? Could be of course that this specific bank refuses to give out the cards, but I would still ask to speak to somebody in a higher position with common sense :2 cents: |

That couldn't happen here, ATMs won't give you the money until you've taken the card out.

This was in Spain, in the end my bank in the UK credited the money as if it was a charge back and I assume they sorted it out between themselves. Something I learned is that with UK banks at least is that an overseas ATM withdrawal is seen as a purchase and not a cash withdrawal so you can claim if things go wrong. |
Ouch... This is why I liked ePassporte...
I had several accounts and all of them had 5000 dollar a day withdrawals... So if I lost one I just sent the cash to another account and withdrew it from there. And getting another card took only a few days... |

Same here, you take card first, then you get money
|
My ATM asks me to mildy soil myself before releasing funds...

in Brazil the ATM's does not swallow your card for the transaction, I think is super safe and great :)

Not all but some of the ATM machine here in the Philippines just recognize ATM cards for 2 secs (meaning, you will insert and after 2 seconds the card will get it out) then you will continue the transaction WITH NO ATM CARD INSIDE THE MACHINE.
