Only Europeans and talking heads think that. When we went to Ireland a couple years ago I got approached on the streets several times by people that wanted to talk politics. I was surprised at the number of people that said how much they liked Reagan . . . . and disliked Obama. That was the most surprising thing.

Baddog. I'm guessing he was like 15 at the time.

DaddyHalbucks 02-20-2012 10:49 AM

RR was a great President.

Rochard 02-20-2012 10:53 AM

When Truman left office, he had some pretty low approval ratings. In fact, seems he had the lowest approval rating ever - worse than Nixon. He dropped atomic bombs on Japan, saw the end of WWII, the Marshal plan, etc etc - just a very busy period in history from the American standpoint. Now he's considered one of the top 10 US presidents of all time.

This all goes back to my concept about how you cannot judge a sitting president. It's not until ten years later that we begin to understand the complete impact any one president had on the US or world history.

slavdogg 02-20-2012 11:10 AM

Reagan was a great leader and great president

Reagan was an informer who ratted up fellow actors to the FBI,

Reagan was a puppet all his life, played by the powerful.

A nasty piece of work who would sell his mother to fuck his sister.

The Neo liberal economic total fuck up can be traced back to him and the cunt Thatcher.

Truman was commander of an artillery regiment in France at the end of World War I. He wasn't happy about the ceasefire, and his unit continued firing into German positions after the armistice had been signed at 5am on 11/11/1918. The ceasefire didn't technically take effect until 11am. A quote from Harry Truman in a letter he wrote that day:

Quote:

It is a shame we can't go in and devastate Germany and cut off a few of the Dutch kids' hands and feet and scalp a few of their old men but I guess it will be better to make them work for France and Belgium for fifty years.

Thatcher was voted in on the slogan "Labour isnt working 1.4m unemployed" There was also a trade a budget surplus. When she left there was 3m unemployed, the country had been asset stripped and there was a trade and budget deficit.

She sold this country out to the Rothschilds yet when she is remembered in the press it is usually positive. I wonder why.

We still suffer today from what she did. My dad calls her "The very wicked woman".

And also for those who dont know,Truman was responsible for creation of communist china because he didnt wanted to help previous government against Japan occupator and that resulted in communist victory against government who was too weak to deal with it.

It can just mean like falsely accused of something or i think like given treatment you don't deserve. It doesn't have to only mean in a court of law to my knowledge.

What would you expect from someone who spent the last 4 years watching his friends being torn up by shells and bullets? Love letters?

War makes monsters of the best of men, it doesn't mean they stay that way...

This is ridiculous.. with this logic Roosevelt was responsible for ww2 because he didn't stop hitler from coming to power... Presidents aren't required to help every country in need, expecting that is insane.

Yes, I'm sure most soldiers on the front were also disappointed at being denied the chance to chop off the hands and feet of children.

Most likely, the truth is that the average soldier in the trenches on November 11, 1918 was war-weary and ready to go home. It was commanders like Truman who caused more needless deaths in the last hours of the war in an attempt to gain a little glory for themselves.

Yes most troops when writing home to their wives would write love letters, but then most men in the trenches were fighting for their lives rather than the furthering of a career and had no desire to inflict any more unnecessary death.

but of course its the ambitious and ruthless assholes prepared to sacrifice others for personal advancement who go far in this world, even President!

You also forgot the date the US entered the war.

I enjoy Eastwood movies. But, I would never confuse a guy who plays the role of tough guys in movies with an actual tough guy.
