Fletcher, i'm not sure if you have me on ignore or not. But i'm offering you the peace flag.
I've been an ass to you for no reason but being an ass.
I apologize. I hope you accept it.

Somebody quote me please because if he has me on ignore he can't read it.

If you don't accept it i fully understand.

he really wanted to be a writer. and wanted to make money so he could pursue that goal. his life was a tragedy, unfortunately.

lazycash 02-22-2012 11:09 PM

Did it ever come out exactly how he died, just curious since he was so young.

I believe it was liver cancer, possibly also involving kidneys. The details were never super specific. He was on some other popular forum asking if anyone knew of a way to get a liver. He died about a month later. :(

I kinda wish I knew more, so I could avoid any potentially negative lifestyle consequences...

He was more active than most of us. Sometimes bad things happen to good people for no reason.

Like my friend who was on something like a 15 mile jog when he collapsed, lapsed into a coma and woke up with pancreatic cancer at 26. Epitome of perfect health and seemingly good genes. He did just have his sixth surgery though and is now cancer free. Still getting a new liver in a few months.

Wow, just typing that, I wonder if that is what took quiet. Pancreatic cancer usually moves very swiftly.

In previous months, he was rocking the Moevember mustache and corresponding t-shirts. I'm assuming he knew about it for a while. I wish he would have been more open about it.

I'd say if anyone was living a healthy lifestyle it was him, but judging by his photos... he liked his alcohol too. And I do too. That's what worries me. That's why I wish I knew more...

Try to lead as healthy of a life as possible, but also don't deprive yourself of what you enjoy, even if it's alcohol. If you are worried about consumption, work harder at moderation.

It seems like there is no rhyme or reason. I know people who have been smoking more than 50 years with a clean bill of health and a 20 year old kid who never touched a cigarette and is in hospice at 20 and passing from lung cancer.

SpicyM 02-23-2012 02:39 AM

yes, when i told quiet i was moving to new orleans to take a year off and start writing again he told me he wished he could do the same.

he inspired me to do what he wanted to do in life. And I never quite understood it until he was gone. His inspiration still lives in me.

I think about quiet almost everyday while working something will be triggered something he told me or taught me, I miss him more than anyone ive known online. He was a great person and as I always said, he would hit me up for a job, tell me it cost too little and pay me extra hundred or so - when we launched DMPM he basically just told me he wanted to be part of it and started funding it. His heart was bigger than his bank accounts, I assure you that.

Ive never met or encountered another soul quite like his and dont know that I ever will.

I shared this because you guys respected and admired him as I did/do and I knew thoughts of him would be a good thing.

Enjoy the day everyone

Poppy 02-23-2012 05:20 AM

RIP quiet...

I hope he planned for succession so that his family or partner gets the money, rather than it sitting elsewhere perpetually unclaimed.

Hmmm, wonder if it was cirrhosis of the liver and he was contemplating a transplant, but a fast moving cancer seems more probable.

Lykos 02-23-2012 09:42 AM

No I did not. He invited both my wife and I to come stay with him at multiple of his homes for as long as we like and it shall be one of my great regrets to have never taken him up on it.

Once my little girl was born, it would have been very difficult to take a newborn.

As his girl said when she contacted me with the news, "quiet talked about you so much i feel almost as if I know you too Fletch"

its crazy how bonds can be built even over the internet with people on the other side of the globe and whom we have never met in person.

Rip mi hermano.
