Why got more traffic from mainstream then GFY forum?
Disclaimer: I am in GFY since 2003 and I was thinking it is the #1 place for adult biz. We posted about our new affiliate to GFY, plus few other adult boards (who looks semi dead) including russian language ones, and to some mainstream board (those seo, black or white hats etc.).
The question it is: why I got more adult traffic and bigger affiliates from mainstream forums than from GFY or other adult boards posts? Yes from black hat mainstream I got immediately some vietnam guy who created own accounts with fake ip's referrers and stuff, but I busted this and is ok, I expected cheaters from gfy too (I didnj't got instead). Now I wonder if there's anyone else then Paul Markham, affiliate owners and porn surfers reading here? :) |
there are mainstream webmasters that didnt start at adult biz and they are looking for it
thats why. Try this...place a affiliate link of your mainstream sponsor that <makes you 1000$/day> at GFY.You ll see the same results with your adult links at mainstream forums |
Unsure what this $1000 a day thing it should be; current affiliates do up to $100 a day, no one $1000 a day yet... but I think who have traffic worth $1000 a day is not an affiliate really, but instead dealing with brokers and ad networks.
In fact who have so big traffic will sell spots for monthly pre-pay fixed fee, ur use ad networks for that, still being pre-sold or high bid price. Affiliates I think it is many small traffic sources, this is why I've put the minimum payout to $10 and I see someone really take the money out when reached $10 :) Those doing $100 a day take out every $500; I think whoever have more traffic then that would be not an affiliate but (like a tube) sell spots in pre-pay or join exo-click's and such. |
gfy is just for bs webmasters

By the way I am trying to understand where those mainstream seo/blackhat forum affiliates get traffic from... via ip's and http referrers etc... so I see those young indians are very ingenious and not even own a blog or domain name... one of them made some bots who login in chat and cam sites and sp4m a link of an url shortener redirecting to our home page. Conversion ratio very good, like 1:3 guess what... now I wonder do I have a reason for tell him to stop, maybe it should be those chat sites to figure and kick him, not me? :) |
