Some bloggin questions

I'm going to restart parts of my old blog network and was looking for some input and experiences before I get started.

1. First of all, what type of post would you think converts the best?
A: http://www.bustytaliashepard.com/talia-toy-play/
B: http://www.bustytaliashepard.com/tal...rd-huge-boobs/
C: http://www.girlsinprivate.com/archiv...-storage-room/
D: http://enormousboobs.org/2012/jelena...n-the-morning/
E: Something else? (please post an example)

2. What plugin/software/script does everyone use (for wordpress) to easily replace post/page links?

3. Where do you submit your posts / sites? (if anywhere, link dumps etc)

4. Do you use an auto-pinger and does it actually help?

5. What plugin do you use to interlink keywords or extra link keywords.

Thanks in advance :thumbsup

Out of all the styles I've tried, this is what works best for me

http://www.wehateporn.com/2010/07/15...he-first-time/

It does take a fair while to create and think up a story, but it pays off

Thank you for the input! :thumbsup

Just a suggestion:

Replace this theme with a theme that has a sidebar on the sub-pages (for better internal linking and users getting there instead of the main site).

Don't overdo it though. I have been noticing lately that the shorter the story, more to the point it is and clearly concise layouts of the posts make a big difference.

If they get the whole user experience that makes them cum before clicking anything, you lost. I started off doing 300-400 word articles but dumbed down between 150-200.

Nobody is going to read everything you write if the post scrolls and will get bored of the "story" after a couple paragraphs. If you want them to read everything and get excited, keep your story simple, humorous/shocking and consistent with your personality in all your posts.

iwantchixx 03-01-2012 01:34 PM

Also another pointer..

Font sizes: I have been experimenting with larger sized text links and bolded passages within the paragraphs and noticed that they stand out better and appear more enticing to read what's around it.

Yeah, that's much better. Just your sidebar could be optimized with regards to SEO on this blog.

Same here, I would write long posts and now just write around 150 words, seemed like Google treated me better writing shorter posts too.

I usually go between 100-150 too

Colmike9 03-01-2012 04:40 PM

100-200 words is what I always say to use but for some reason everyone tells me to go fuck myself and that longer is better... :Oh crap (They're wrong, btw.. :thumbsup )

yup, always hear all the "seo experts" saying you should write much longer posts but honestly the blogs I have done that on either do the same as 150 word posts or worse! (and then I kick myself in the ass for spending all that time writing them).

So many people blog in so many different ways...you just gotta do what works for you and keep doing it.

'Spiders' like content that is relevant and to the point with some keyword density in there too, but the long articles don't do better just because they are longer. Search 'engines' and websites a few years ago are what more text benefits..
Also, in some cases just going back to a popular article and adding more relevant info or link to it, that helps more than just adding another post :thumbsup

In the time an 'SEO expert' takes to write a long article, I'll have a full blog finished and set on auto pilot ;)

I just checked the stats for it, given that the post took me between 2 and 3 hours to write, by my standards this is a good return and ratio

has to do with keyword density. Write too much, keyword gets less dense, start filling in keywords to make it denser, it looks spammy.

Keep it under 2 percent and to the point. Especially with longtail..

That's good actually, now do 100 more like it haha.

Darkhorse 03-01-2012 08:44 PM

I keep mine at around the 200 word mark as well. I do 100 words then a picture below it (linked to gallery or tour page) then another 100 words below that.

With keywords linked up, I don't think there is a set rule nor should there be, what works best for you then stick with that.

Does anyone here put popunders on all of their blogs? I tried it out on one blog using exoclick and it makes around $0.12/daily which is nothing...but if that was say 200 blogs it could be $24/daily. I'm just worried about pissing off my visitors.

I do. Pops once every 24 hours per visitor and I haven't seen a drop. People are used to them I guess.

I don't do it on all my sites. The sites that has very targeted traffic and generate sales = no pop-ups of any sort.

The sites that has tons of traffic and don't convert, pop the shit out of the free loaders :1orglaugh

I'd test and monitor if I were you :)

I don't do it on my main sites, just on some autopilot sites.

If you don't make enough with Exo or other networks, try another way. Build a "landing page", put some content on it and surround it with some ads from Exo or Juicy and use that page as popup or make a sales page with a $1 trial. Network Popups always depend on advertisers, this way you can be sure to have an interesting site for your users.

The sidebar on the Talia Shepard blog is ok, you can compare it yourself with the one on enormousboobs.org.

On that blog you've got too many external links on top of the sidebar, while all your internal links (categories, tag cloud, recent posts,...) are below them. If you check your source code, you will notice that the internal links are located at the end of your code. So G's bot will notice a lot of external links (no matter if nofollowed or not) before it will notice your internal links.

Not sure if it's correct or not, I was told bot doesn't read the whole source code, but only a certain part.

Yeah 100 of those would be nice, I should set that as a goal and work towards it. It's a lot quicker to do a video update, so it can be tempting, but they don't bring in the same money.

Altogether on the blog there are around 700 posts, of which less than 20 are very similar to that one. Here's another that sells well for me, again the story is made up http://www.wehateporn.com/2011/01/22...pletely-naked/

wehateporn 03-02-2012 09:12 AM

Another thing that works very well for me, which I really need to do a lot more of, is when instead of creating a blog post to promote one sponsor, you create a post that gives the latest updates within the niche from a number of sponsors. This way instead of saying "Welcome to my cafe, we only sell Jacket Potatoes, would you like one?" it's more like "Welcome to my cafe, we have 10 different meals on the menu, which one would you like today?" so hence you'll bring a lot more sales by using this technique. Here's an example

http://www.wehateporn.com/2011/08/12...e-august-2011/

I've got to start doing one of these each week, need to get up earlier in the morning

That's actually a very good idea.

Has anyone experimented with a "TGP style" entrace to the blog niches? I'm thinking if it's a blog with multiple niches. or would that be bad for SEO :pimp

I'm still working on it, hopefully done in a few days, but www.onlinesexblogs.com is what I did to try out a TGP style entrance using Tanzaku template that arranges the posts like that then I made a few adjustments in functions.php. I didn't know what else to use the index page for.. :upsidedow

How do you define "TGP style"? Pictures with less text on the index page? Or mostly images and less or no text in your articles?

If you're doing it right, you will not only get traffic to your index (with the search term you are optimizing on) but also a lot of traffic to the article subpages from long-tails.

So even if the index should get less traffic, you can still get a lot of hits directly to the subpages.

anexsia 03-02-2012 08:42 PM

Good thread guys, some very helpful information in here....so here's to all of us hopefully making good money this year!)

See the link coolmike posted :) that's what I mean.

Yea I know most traffic doesn't even arrive on the index page of many of my blogs, especially not the old ones cause they were build with zippedsites.. and that fucked it all up lol

AHarper 03-04-2012 12:59 PM

Oh yeah, zippedsites, I remember them. Built my first blogs using their tools but then they unfortunately closed down.

martinsc 03-04-2012 01:21 PM

I've noticed that posts with not evenly sized pictures do better than exactly aligned images... no idea why, maybe it looks more natural, less "pro".... I'd add a wide pic and below two vertical pics, but not exactly align them...:2 cents::2 cents:

Yea I was very close to buying the whole thing just to be able to use it myself. The plugin was pretty fucking awesome for blogging and the TGPs actually managed to get quite a lot of traffic.

But then I had a guy look at it and told me most code was shit haha.

Markul 03-15-2012 06:19 AM

By the way, can anyone who blogs on a wordpress platform help me answer this:

Bumping an old thread here.

I was interested in this posting style, specifically how the pictures are linked to sponsor site instead of the picture.

As a result there are a bunch of links to sponsors page and NO links to the pictures shown within the post.

I have noticed a similar approach at Bangbros:

http://new.bangbros.com/videos/bella...ene_111026.htm

See thumbs below the video.

And in the past Bangbros would have something like, first row of thumbs link to large pic, second row links to join page, but now every thumb links to join page.

It must be tested that this yields more conversions? Has anyone else experimented with this strategy?

You can use .htaccess to redirect the links. I am no coder but if you search Changing Links wth .htaccess you should get some information
