Kony 2012
what the fuck is this shit? something about it really doesn't sit right with me.
they are playing it on tv now with no commercials. the doco maker is getting on my nerves with his preachy self righteous crap. |
Lol I noticed this earlier and I have this 20min youtube video open in a tab, but I haven't had time to watch it yet.. still clueless, but the buzz about it is interesting.

Ok watched it (honestly, way overhyped, wow). Of course it's a great cause but we can't police the world, that is what we are already doing and it only causes more problems, debt, etc for us. So lets say we make this Kony character famous, so what? We are here and they are there. People will just hype it up for the time being because it is the popular thing, that's how people operate unfortunately. Even if the guy is taken down there are probably thousands of people ready to take his place and we would have to kill a lot of children to stop all of it, it's not our battle. Besides all of that, I can't believe this guy picked 420 of all dates to 'take action', everyone will be focused on getting stoned (How many peace protesters are stoners? Exactly) and either half assedly taking part in helping this cause or making fun of it, and the rest will shrug the cause off as some "stoner protest".
|
yeah you can't help everyone, some countries are just messed up shitholes.
He also used his 4 year old kid in the video and asked him questions about the guy to play on peoples emotions more. Not impressed. |
Yep
It's all over my facebook page... funny enough the guy running it in the town I come from is pissed cause some people dont agree with the "campaign" so now he's threatening to shoot them all in the head (MAJOR MELTDOWN) Now there's a peaceful guy...
I like the stat that our of the 13 million the charity made last year only 5 million went to the cause... got to love them charities... :Oh crap |
yeah, since we can't help everyone, and there are other bad people out there as well, we should all do nothing instead...

The organization behind Kony 2012 — Invisible Children Inc. — is an extremely shady nonprofit that has been called ”misleading,” “naive,” and “dangerous” by a Yale political science professor, and has been accused by Foreign Affairs of “manipulating facts for strategic purposes.” They have also been criticized by the Better Business Bureau for refusing to provide information necessary to determine if IC meets the Bureau’s standards.
Additionally, IC has a low two-star rating in accountability from Charity Navigator because they won’t let their financials be independently audited. That’s not a good thing. In fact, it’s a very bad thing, and should make you immediately pause and reflect on where the money you’re sending them is going. By IC’s own admission, only 31% of all the funds they receive go toward actually helping anyone (pdf). The rest go to line the pockets of the three people in charge of the organization, to pay for their travel expenses (over $1 million in the last year alone) and to fund their filmmaking business (also over a million) — which is quite an effective way to make more money, as clearly illustrated by the fact that so many can’t seem to stop forwarding their well-engineered emotional blackmail to everyone they’ve ever known. http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/ |

I just like the idea of painting the town red on April 20th, 2012.

2009 Oil find sparks new hope for Uganda's people
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009...ergy-companies 2011 US President Barack Obama in October 2011 announced he was sending 100 special forces soldiers to Uganda to help track down Kony. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17295078 While there will be some truth in the Kony propaganda, no doubt the real agenda is Western control of oil; Invisible Children is the way they sell it to us |
The NGO's are virtually always up to no good, they are one of the biggest threats to the world we live in. There are a small number of exceptions
