I have never seen a fake or duplicate Facebook account...

fuckers invited me back in and surprisingly even dropped required phone/DL verification for my acct

they're gearing up for their IPO.

more accounts = more valuable for advertisers = more $$ coming in = higher IPO price.

Hmmm, what you're saying smells like a class action in the making. They ARE being transparent about issues regarding their numbers so that fact alone might dampen the chances of:

i know people who separate their private and biz account on FB but i have personally never seen a fake account nor do i know anyone with 3 or more accounts

Uhm...who cares?

1 in 20 might be about right...probably between 5-10%. I don't think Facebook rewards those being fake and spammy as much as a site like Twitter might. Twitter is a spam haven.

and how many fake and duplicated nicks are here on gfy do you think? you think it is also 1 of 20? or is it 1 in 5? on facebook is it the same, anywhere where is possibility to make money or traffic, is a big percentage of fake nicks, that is understandable right? :) sure facebook will put the number to 1 to 20, shareholders dont want to hear half of their money cames from bots :)

In last 7 days my friends made zillion fake accounts to play some game that limits your daily game play

there are people in this thread with 3 or more. and there are people in this thread who make fake profiles.

what I don't understand, if you know it is a fake profile, why would you add that as friend?

I know several people who have an old unused Facebook account and a new one for whatever reason. In one case she forgot her password and didn't want to wait 24 hours after she got the account locked.

On Facebook I have a personal one, a business one, and an alter ego (fake) for UC. I don't have any need for any fakes on webmaster forums, though.

I have a FaceBook account, mostly for my high school reunions. I also created a fake account of a girl, as a test. When I made ?friends? with my real account, several of my high school friends made friends with her. The fake account has about 20 ?friends.? Would be more, but haven?t looked at the account in months.
As another test, I set up a Bedo account using my girlfriend's picture. "She" was getting about 10 marriage proposals a day. First day I set up the account about 500 guys hit on her.

I believe it's a legislative requirement because of the way they structured their private shares. They're going public because they have to.
