What was wrong with Android Market? Google Market would have even been better. But not all of us go to the market to "play." Google should know better.

very lame, they are ridding it of the android brand, terrible. however could mean expansion into other mobile os apps being sold there.

Is that why my Market app disappeared from my phone? I had to use the web browser to find the app store.

The new play market will be used to sell cross platform apps at some point. It encompasses much more than just Android.
