So i cashed some old checks
 

First time in years.
Per check my bank now charges 60 euros (75 dollars) per check and it takes 4 to 6 weeks.

yeah, also it takes a lot of time to cash them for some reason. I always spend 20 minutes or so at the bank. I guess they're never know exactly how to handle it.

No, he said it will be around 60 bucks. Could be a lil bit less OR even more.
I have several 100's in smaller checks which i can't even cash. If i did i would owe my bank money. (i also lose a chunk because of the exchange rate).

take them to the US. they love checks there.

In Costa Rica there was no charge for cashing the check and it took 10 business days to clear. That's awesome that your banking system is worse than a third world country.

My bank charges $30 and the money is there within one week. But if a check bounces, they charge me $60 or something.

Did you already check out Okpay? Similar service as Paxum but they additionally offer to cash your sponsor checks

DirtyF.. don't forget most adult sponsors pay out with Paxum nowadays, that would definitely save you some $$ the next time you get paid! :thumbsup

If you don't see Paxum in the sponsor program payout options you're using, then just get in touch with them. Some sponsors have Paxum available, but require that you request it directly.

I just write my name and account number on the back of the checks and mail it to the bank :)
It doesn't cost much to cash/exchange them either

they charge me +- €15 / batch.

My bank charges $0.00 and they hold the money for zero days.
