I'm off to New Zealand

Just got my visa application approved and an interesting question popped into my head, how about adult industry in New Zealand? Is it legal? I looked at everything that I could find about NZ in recent months but I didn't think about this. I'm not really that big of a player in the biz, I have a couple of blogs and several Android apps out there. So is it ok if I make posts to my blogs and update the apps from NZ? Is there anyone here who lives in NZ?

papill0n 03-17-2012 12:26 AM

it will be ok if you make posts to your blogs and update your apps

You will be fine. Just don't brag about it. Very laid back country, Enjoy.

Prostitution is legal in NZ but we don't take kindly to Android apps.

There are a few adult video stores, plenty of gentlemen's clubs and everything else seems to be very quiet if it is around.

No problems with adult biz at all in NZ - We are a pretty open minded people....

Edit: They have the first Trans MP and she was openly a prostitute before going into politics...

You needed a visa to be a tourist or are you moving there?

I've never been. Would love to hear more about how to stay there long term if any of you have solid info on that.

Redrob 03-17-2012 02:33 PM

yeah south island was nice! was a bit cooler of course, since it's further south. Christchurch was still a mess but a trip to see, Queenstown was a blast! would love to go there again! visa was easy for me, told them i was going to auckland & just doing lotsa of hiking & scuba...
:2 cents:

EddyTheDog 03-17-2012 02:54 PM

The South Island is way better than the North.

I have not seen ChCh yet - Not sure I want to - I used to live there and loved it so much.

waltgator 03-17-2012 03:09 PM

yeah man, i liked both islands, each very unique in their own ways. Auckland was fun, Rotorua smelly!(haha), loved Russell, just a great little town... S. Island was very different, climate, mountains, roads, people..sadly never got to see a Kiwi or penguin...did do some diving off of bay of island in the north island...couldn't rent gear for the south island sadly...but New Zealand is breath of fresh air for sure!
:2 cents::thumbsup

Quick, what's the first thing you think of when I say 'New Zealand' ?

Hint: Most people say "sheep".

Oh well - I expect you will enjoy it anyway.....

jk - I am just a bit biased towards the South Island.

Auckland is like a laid back version of Sydney with the added bonus of less Australians.

The city is very multicultural, make sure you get involved with all aspects of that and you will have an even better time.

Cheers, mate. I'm sure I will have lots of fun there. Really hope to settle there too.
