No, because you can buy a mouse at any walfart for like $5 or less.

madko 03-17-2012 05:33 PM

I had to do a banner in photoshop with a broken mouse (left click was dead) a few days ago .. I almost killed myself. It was very hard!

rvn 03-17-2012 05:58 PM

my wife doesn't use a mouse at all - she uses touch pad and scratches it like a crazy cat

u-Bob 03-17-2012 06:30 PM

CurrentlySober 03-17-2012 07:41 PM

Yup these are your magic keys
Alt-tab - window change
Ctl_C & X & V - cut and paste
F5 - refresh
F2 - edit a field
window-D - minimise everything
ctrl-esc pull up the window box
ctrl S - saves most shit
F12 - always tends to be Save As
F10 does menu bar crap
F11 does full screens
F12 calls up shit to run page speed to see how craply slow your site runs
Alt= (sums col in excel SUPERB)
shif tab - change input boxes
shift return - line feed
ctrl-end
crtl-home - navigation
ctrl-T opens a tab in browser
Alt-D like the best EVER to get to the address bar in browser

I would like to punch in the head scrum masters and PM's that want to use the mouse for stupid things with a vengenace

This is for the elite only

One of my two computers here is a touch screen. Don't use a mouse for that at all now.

travs 03-17-2012 10:18 PM

that would be fucking difficult for designers

I re-installed Oblivion on an old machine, but couldn't find a working mouse. Too lazy to go to the stare to buy a new one, I had one mouse with working buttons and another mouse with a working laser (or whatever the glowy light on the bottom is...)

Using duct tape, I attached the mouse with functioning buttons to the top of the mouse with the working light. Plugged them both into empty USB slots.

It worked great. The duct tape held them together nice and snug, and the entire contraption fit nicely into my man hands.

The problem I find working with a mouse is if they get under the sofa or hide. They're a bugger to find. LOL

does using touchpad on notebook count?

alan-l 03-18-2012 01:15 AM

I use a mouse even for laptops, hate pads, let alone working with the keyboard alone

PornMD 03-18-2012 01:43 AM

I've had cases where mouse stopped working but I couldn't reboot. Definitely a chore to get used to but I think I could if I really had to. I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts as it is.

I use a Wacom Intuos tablet. No need for a mouse.

:thumbsup

Thanks for this. I do not do any design work, I code. The problem is that I am developing early signs of CTS on my right hand so the idea is to stay away from the mouse.

change a mouse to with another shape, maybe get adjustable mouse like cyborg's rat and might as well get padding for your wrist to land on. point is you need to change something to get your hand in more comfortable position or shape while working with it
