Dumb question do you need a .xxx domain to have an adult site?

Or can you still use .com's and .net domains?

MetaMan 03-24-2012 12:23 PM

It is law to have adult sites on .xxx. Do not bother with .com or .net as ICANN (domain "dudes") will take your domain away for putting adult on it.

Colmike9 03-24-2012 12:26 PM

I'll sell you a special .com that won't be raided by the government if you put porn on it for just $5000 :winkwink:

InfoGuy 03-24-2012 04:08 PM

Porn is now banned on all .com domains and I've been authorized by ICANT to confiscate them all.

Fap 03-24-2012 04:38 PM

You can put adult sites on pretty much any domain extension (country permitting.. .ly would probably not allow it)

18teens 03-24-2012 10:24 PM

You're probably better off starting out with a free domain from GeoCities. Be fair warned though, it must have xxx in the name or you'll be spending some time behind bars.

globofun 03-24-2012 10:44 PM

GeoCities...........................LOL

Also, make sure to search the subject on AltaVista.com
