Too many ads on Youtube!

Is it just me or has Youtube gone apeshit with ads? While looking around and trying to watch about 10 clips I saw 10 full length ads that I could not end early. Suck!

Dirty F 03-25-2012 10:20 PM

Yes i noticed that the other day. Very annoying.

Phillipmcd1 03-25-2012 10:21 PM

Adblock on Chrome

candyflip 03-25-2012 10:21 PM

They want to be more like TV.

papill0n 03-25-2012 10:25 PM

it really sucks when you have your playlist running and have to stop what you are doing to skip some annoying 6 minute ad - repeatedly!!!!

porno jew 03-25-2012 10:28 PM

shit i'm just watching a long video and now they have ads every few minutes just like tv.

well that fucking sucks.

anexsia 03-25-2012 10:57 PM

Yeah...it's VERY annoying. I know they have to make money but damn does it suck having to repeatedly skip ads on every video and then they have those long advertisements you can't skip.

I'll be watching a youtube video that has the sound kinda low so I will turn up my speakers and BAM a loud as shit commercial comes on.

Not only do you have all the commercials, but you'll get popup adsense ads as well in the same video arrrrgggghh

porno jew 03-25-2012 11:03 PM

lame as tv shows are built around commercials. these just drop in the middle of whatever. it's fucking jarring.

fuck you youtube for fucking up my free shit.

lucas131 03-25-2012 11:03 PM

yes i like ads. i like ads, and i like spam, and i also like waiting, and i most like interrupting and waiting :)

Spunky 03-25-2012 11:05 PM

Almost as annoying as redirects or pop ups,it's all about revenue

lucas131 03-25-2012 11:06 PM

Because I wear two hats -
Hat 1 - Webmaster
Hat 2 - Surfer

Wearing Hat 1, I have multiple browsers installed - (For checking purposes)

If I browse for Business, I wear my webmaster hat, and do not have adblock installed.
If I browse for pleasure - Hat 2 - I DO have adblock installed...

I like to know what others are up too, but I am smart enought to avoid the bullshit myself...

It's actually really evil, when your playlist is all Sesame Street and Elmo videos, and then all of a sudden a women's cosmetic commercial comes on and your kid fusses. :Oh crap

yep, those fuckers got me with their ad..... oh no, what to do, people trying to sell shit on the internet. lol

and seeing the reaction of webmasters to youtube ads in this thread... my goodness what do porn surfers think about sites these days. lol ouch.

Its grown more annoying lately, I agree. Some of them last for more than 30 seconds too which is extra annoying.

It's always entertaining to read the plight of freeloaders.

I'm sorry. I thought YouTube/G was a for-profit business. The end goal was to make money.

:2 cents:

Tom_PM 03-26-2012 07:30 AM

I tend to cache longer clips and watch them from the cache for better quality. Side effect is no ads during the clip, but it's a bit of a pain in itself.
But the better quality partners get to have ads, so thats how the ball bounces.

2intense 03-26-2012 07:51 AM

youtube sucks

Scott McD 03-26-2012 07:59 AM

I don't like to moan too much about free stuff... ;-)

DWB 03-26-2012 08:33 AM

Is youtube making money yet or are they still losing insane amounts?

Xena252 03-26-2012 10:30 AM
