Cigs In A Snack Machine :::
 

I was buying a snack out of a snack machine today and saw cigarettes in the machine. Is that legal?

They were $6 a pack.

Not sure in the US - They have drinks machines with beer in Spain though.

What is the normal cost of cigs in the US?

not sure, but I thought that they banned cigarette machines... haven't seen one in a long time.

The last time I bought cigs was when I was a little boy. I used to ride my bike to the store and buy them for my dad, they were .50 a pack back then :1orglaugh

Was very odd to me to see those cigs in the snack machine. Any kid with $6 could buy himself a pack of cigs. I was thinking you had to be 18 to buy cigs in California. No way to verify the buyers age if they're sold in a vending machine :Oh crap

I've seen cigarette machines in Wisconsin, but only in bars. Haven't seen one in Minnesota since I was a kid.

They have cigarette machines in casinos here in Vegas. It's something like $8 a pack though

You're looking at around $20 a pack for cigarettes out of a machine in pubs in Melbourne.

You pay between $15 and $22 in shops for a pack.

Daaaaaaaamn, they always have packs on sale for around $3.50 here and then they have the ghetto gas stations that sell single cigarettes for $0.25 :1orglaugh

Where was that, if it was in a bar, I could see it being ok, but if it was just out in public, I wouldn't think so.

I thought they had to be in a place where children didn't frequent, not in a public place, and had to be monitored(in view of) by an employee at all times

I remember walking home from elementary school past a bar with a cigarette vending machine outside and the high schoolers buying their smokes 50-55 cents at the time

I remember about twenty years ago in Colorado they made it law that machines selling cigarettes had to be in plain view of employees. Later they made it illegal I think. I believe it's illegal in Texas, but maybe not in a bar.

Almost certainly illegal. You're not allowed to set up an actual cigarette vending machine in the same places you can set up a snack or soda machine. The person who owns it probably stuck them in there to make a profit and hasn't been busted yet.

On a side note, I also remember when I was 13 there was a gas station where it cost 50 cents per pack. And another that still had an ancient nickel soda machine which was awesome.

You see cigarettes in machines in bars here in Florida... No where else that I've seen.

They have had those since the 70's that I know of, just can't have them in a public area where kids can get them. Like a bar.

When I smoked in the Navy, I was buying cartons for $2.30. And I own a coke machine that uses 15 cents for the 8 oz glass bottles

Yeah you can have them in specified locations. More adult oriented. But never mixed with candies that I'm aware of. Thats a rogue operator I think. It even looks like a pen and paper price tag doesn't it?

I've seen in all over in bars. In Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin, Nevada.

We pay from 1eur to 1,7eur for a pack, and i EU is probably 3x or 4x more?

Damn, you guys pay a lot for cigs.. Do what I do and smoke weed to save a buck :winkwink:
