Spam target Pinterest a possible Facebook takeover target?

I've posted earlier regarding its massive growth and susceptibility to spam. Pinterest is now closing in on 20 million members. Most of its growth took place only very recently. Now some people are speculating that FB should take this puppy over: http://www.privco.com/press/top-5-re...st-and-quickly

Do you think that would be a good idea or is this a flash in the pan?

its a fun and clever site, but there is only so many pics on the internet house wives can pass around until they get bored with it and the next big fad comes along.

i think its a flash in the pan.

No way is this a flash in the pan. new pics are taken every single day, new memes, etc. Thats like saying youtube videos will stop getting uploaded and viewed because its just a fad.

I agree. This will not pass quickly and FB would be wise to buy it if possible now, rather than trying to do their own version and failing.

They should learn from Google that it is not easy to enter a new market when there is already a dominant force with tons of momentum.

I read that Pinterest is already a very large % of many of the biggest online retailers traffic and sales.
